Is there any ways that drivers can see people clearly even they are not wearing safety vest. What if there was a way to make the transparent cockpit? This is the project that has studied Japanese researchers.
That would greatly facilitate accidents! At present, the vision of the driver’s field is restricted by the vehicle doors, the back seat and all body parts. In the future, the driver could get an unobstructed 360-degree view.
An augmented reality device was developed by students of design department at Keio University. For a complete field of vision behind the vehicle, the students set a camera on the back of the car. Thereof is connected to a computer, which also has coupling a projector. The captured image is then projected against a mirror and then reflected on the back seat. The latter has indeed a Reflective fabric.
There are at present vehicles with a trunk on board camera projecting the image on a screen on the dashboard. This new experience, however, aims at providing a display full size of the car environment. The rear seats disappear so completely.
Certainly, unless the rear passengers are dressed in the same fabric, they will hide the reflective material part, but a single device can be set up on the side doors, front or rear, to ignore the blind spots.
