Reflective material for building

Reflective material that reflects not only 97 percent of the sunlight, but also the radiation heat to the outside of the buildings reflected in infrared radiation – which discovered Engineering at Stanford University. Result? Cooler buildings are that use less air conditioning.

Also this material reflects the light at a certain frequency of buildings with which it glides through the air without heat up the atmosphere of it, reports IIF/IIR. The engineers published their discovery in the journal Nature.

Reflective material

According to researchers in safety vest, this consists of reflective material from seven layers of silicon dioxide and hafnium oxide on a thin layer of silver and is up to 1.8 microns thick. The layers not uniform thickness. The internal structure is adapted to the infrared radiation which is emitted at the desired wavelengths.

Practical application

Before this material with reflective element can be applied technology, there are two problems must be overcome: How to lead the heat from the inside of the building to cover and how to make panels that are big enough to cool large buildings. At this moment the prototype is still the size of a small pizza.
