The Hague city carrier HTM begins with a test in which employees are equipped with plug-proof vests. Currently wearing ten inspectors such safety vest, but decided in March that all inspectors get one.
HTM wants to protect its employees from becoming the violence that is increasing more grotesque forms.
Yet there are not only proponents of the initiative, the safety coordinator acknowledges in AD. “We want to give our people a cannonball security,” he says with wearing safety clothing. “It may not be true that an auditor suddenly feel a kind man of steel, someone who imagines himself invulnerable.”
Possibly the stab vest will soon be required to risky days and times, such as weekends, “when the drink is the man.” On other days, the safety reflective vest can be worn “voluntary”.
