Assuming that the best way to survive an accident is to not have them, the British branch of Volvo distributes a reflective spray allowing cyclists to travel very visible at night. An innovation that would see is successful motorcycle or scooter.
The time change has just concern more … visible, but the difficulty of users of two wheels to be seen when night falls or early morning remains a recurrent concern. Those who do not want to don a retro-reflective vest or do not have a jacket equipped with the Night Eye technology MACNA will welcome with a smile spray Life Paint after seeing the video at end of article.
Launched by the Volvo car brand that is known to have made safety a priority, the spray Life Paint is actually developed by the firm to which Albedo100 retro-reflective material paints are a specialty. The Life Paint is a misnomer because it is not paint but a washable material to be sprayed on any surface (frame, helmet or clothing). It is naturally eliminated after a few days or the first wash (for the version for textiles). If Volvo’s communication highlights the security provided for cyclists, one cannot help but imagine the use that could be motorcyclists and scooter drivers: if you know you will return at night, one can occasionally “paint “his jacket, his pants or his helmet. They retain their natural color day and once lit by headlights, refer bright white, while making the wearer visible.
The Life Paint is currently distributed in some shops in England at a price approaching 20 € to 100mL. It is hoped that success will be waiting for you and motivate Volvo and Albedo100 to offer this technology throughout lowering prices.
Update November 4, 2015: Aledo 100 is now sold in France, in two versions, for safety clothing, textile or metal surfaces. Parisian bikers will go to Star Motors Bastille while the command can also be done online. From our side, the test is already planned. To be continued…
