Mandatory safety car equipment abroad

According to Polish regulations, the vehicle registered in the country must be equipped with a warning triangle and a fire extinguisher. Our law does not agree with the regulations of the vast majority of the European Union. So what should we do when we go abroad? It turns out that in some cases we do not have to buy missing items at all. Sometimes it is worthwhile though.

Although Poland is a member of the European Union, not all road regulations in force in our country are reflected in other Member States. This includes, among other things, the list of obligatory car equipment. Each country has its own list of accessories that must be on board the vehicle registered in it. How does it look in detail? Current data on mandatory vehicle equipment is published by the European Commission.

Do we, however, need to buy equipment that other countries require when traveling abroad? After all, it is hard to suspect that the Germans or Czechs who come to Poland buy fire extinguishers for this circumstance. The Vienna Convention on Traffic is exempt from the obligation to purchase equipment in other countries. The 1968 International Law Group was adopted by all EU member states. In one of the points says that when leaving the car abroad, we must have only what we are obliged to domestic law.

In practice it is not always easy to explain your reason to a policeman wear safety vest in a foreign country, and attempts to award a mandate for a lack of local lawful equipment are still occurring. What to do in this case? If we accept a mandate, the penalty will have to be paid on site or after visiting an ATM. If we do not accept the mandate, legal assistance may be required in the state. It is always a good idea to inform the Polish consulate in the country where you are staying. It is best to call there right away at check-in. This can cool the police officer.

What about car rental? It is almost certain that such a vehicle has all that is required in the country of its registration. For peace, however, you can check it by picking up the car. If we go to the country where we rented the car, the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic will again protect us from the mandate.

Regardless of European conventions, before leaving on a long journey with your own car, it is worth getting at least the elements that will provide us with safety. – We recommend equipping the car with at least elements that repeat in the legislation of most European countries – says Cesar of the Polish Motor Show. – It’s about a first aid kit and a reflective vest. It is true that according to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic we are not obliged to do so, but in practice it happens that the police abroad are trying to give such a mandate for failure to do so. It’s better to save yourself trouble. In practice, however, it should be punished with mandates for the absence of spare bulbs or fuses. Such events took place years ago in Slovakia, for example, and this was an abuse of national anachronism.

– When purchasing a first aid kit, it is worth paying attention to its equipment. – It is best to buy a set that meets the requirements of the country we go to. As for the vest or reflective vest, it is true that according to the Vienna Convention we do not have to have them in the car, but in many countries the law states that when leaving a car, for example in the event of a puncture, we must wear a vest. This convention is no longer included – our correspondent says.

Departure abroad – keep reflective vest for safety

Last year, 69% of Poles went on holiday by car. The comfort of this means of transport, but it is worth remembering that before leaving, check the technical condition of the vehicle. This depends not only on the road safety, but also on our safety.

The key issue is the technical condition of the car. Pay attention to the braking system – check the brake discs, the pads, and the fluid level. It is precisely the maintenance of the proper values of operating fluids that is essential for maintaining the vehicle in the best possible efficiency.

In addition to the brake fluid (and assistants), pay attention to the cooling liquid. Just stop in the traffic jam so our engine will overheat. The fluid should not be more than three years old, but if you notice small defects, you can save a bit of distilled water. It is important to remember that alcohol (from the previously poured liquid) represents at least half of the liquid in the cooling system. If you are already buying a liquid, do not suggest a color, but find out if our agent has inorganic (IAT) or organic (OAT) additives. These liquids cannot be mixed with each other.

Equally important is the oil level. To properly check its level you need to set your car flat, horizontal plane. After a few minutes of turning off the engine, remove the oil dipstick, wipe with a reflective cloth or tissue, and then reinsert it. When the oil is removed again, it should leave a trace on the dipstick indicating its current level. If we notice spills, you have to go to the workshop to check the situation.

You cannot forget the tires – check the damage and the tread before going on the road. According to regulations, the tread should not be shallower than 1.6 mm. However, it is assumed that the replacement of summer tires with new ones should be made when the tread depth falls below 3 mm, and also when the rubber is old enough to threaten the correct adhesion to the substrate. Equally important is the pressure. It’s best to check those two weeks before your trip and after a week check to be sure again. If within a week the pressure has changed, then the sign that you should go to vulcanize. You can also – if we have a place in the trunk – give up the tire sealing fluid for the wheel.

If you are planning a holiday abroad, you should check the applicable regulations and make up accessories above the minimum required in Poland, which is a warning triangle and fire extinguisher. First aid kit, reflective vest, spare bulbs – it’s on Polish roads additional equipment that you can carry in your car for your own and other safety and comfort.

First aid kit is required in almost every European country. Before traveling far, it is worth to verify its content. Just like having reflective vests that should match the number of passengers, or at least adults, and be in the car, not in the trunk. According to the Vienna Convention on Traffic, the police in a given country should not be punished with the driver’s license, which is equipped according to Polish law. Nevertheless, proper preparation and possession of a tow rope, lever, key, spare wheel or bulbs will avoid discussions with law enforcement officials in Slovakia, where the requirements in this respect are particularly high. We have written more about the requirements in each country.

Natural fibers versus synthetic for clothing

Functional clothing is important for fiber selection and knitting structure. The fibers determine the speed of damping, the wetness of the knitted and reflective fabric, the drying rate and also the coloring, the possibility of dyeing and printing, the degree of abrasion, the viscosity and the shrinkage.

The binding structure determines the degree of thermal insulation, the moisture holding rate, the drying rate, the mechanical properties and the complexity of the workmanship. “The properties of individual types of fibers combined with different bindings or a combination of fibers and bindings make it possible to create the resulting knitwear for different climatic conditions and physical load,” remarks Melos Piety.

Natural reflective materials, now called renewable, have been used since time immemorial. The most famous cotton and wool can be added today with viscose and bamboo fiber. Their utility properties have been tested by various climatic conditions over many centuries. However, they cannot meet the requirements we expect from the fiber today – they must be light, strong, flexible, pleasant to touch, non-absorbent, well-drained water, also cool in the summer and warm in the winter, thermally inert. They must be resistant to bacteria, molds and insects and must be well maintained.

Natural materials, however, have a high absorbency compared to synthetic fibers. An exception here is a wave which, even with a high absorption, does not awaken, unless you can do more than it can handle. Body moisture is stored in the fiber structure and evaporates very slowly. It’s the same speed as drying after washing.

Merino sheep’s wool is very fine and its 14-16 micron fibers are acceptable for sensitive skin. Stronger fibers are not suitable for linen production. The wool absorbs odors and has a self-cleaning ability, no particles of dust or dirt fall on the fibers. Current technologies can better classify the wool, and only high-quality reflective yarn is produced from the longest fibers.

Smart clothes with reflective material

Sales of technology products incorporated into clothing, called ‘wearable’s, will reach 135 million Euros in 2018 in the world, according to augur international experts who will meet in Barcelona next week.

At the meeting, promoted by the Technological Center of Catalonia Eureka, it is planned to analyze the opportunities of this type of technology.

Experts estimate that the opportunities offered by smart and functional clothing and reflective fabrics will drive sales to increase from € 9.7m in 2013 worldwide to only € 5.2m in 2013 – to € 135m in 2018.

The Eureka Center has developed or participated, among other projects, in the creation of prototypes of a heated cycling jersey, a body to prevent lumbar injuries or a shirt that measures vital signs and perspiration.

He has also developed clothes that control people’s emotional reactions, a shoe template with sensors that prevents falls, gloves with solar heaters and a bag that lights with solar energy.

According to a Eureka spokeswoman, Effect explained that this technology center in Catalonia is a pioneer in the world of electroluminescent technology, which allows lighting and flexible objects without the need to focus with light as it does with current reflective elements. Smart textiles, with a demand that reaches 75% in the case of young people who say they want to use technology incorporated into clothing, “offer significant opportunities thanks to the development in the miniaturization of electronic components,” explained the researcher in design Textile Oscar Temuco, coordinator of the meeting.

According to Temuco, “functional fabrics can already be seen, architects and agro textiles, but also in professional clothing or sports applications and in the field of health.” In order for this future to become a reality, according to Temuco, “a great transformation is necessary involving agents from multiple disciplines and levels”, where “innovation must be part of both the production process and the design process or Business models “.

The event, organized by the Dutch embassy in collaboration with ADI-FAD, Eindhoven University of Technology and Eureka, will be attended by experts from the textile world, fashion design or textile and experts in ‘wearable’s or technology applied to the textile sector. The director of the Research and Textile Center of Carnet de Mar (Barcelona), Miguel Solar, plans to present functional fabric capacities, and Eureka Business Director Miguel Rey will share the initiative Reimaging Textile, the collaboration network That connects the main agents to place Catalonia as a reference in this new textile revolution.

According to the experts, “it is a textile revolution, driven by new reflective materials, production processes and channels, proliferation of data, devices and sensors and hyper connectivity.”

Use lights and reflective vest when using the bicycle

Immaculate Rudi Vertigo has succeeded in the cold Victorian morning that a hundred political representatives and citizens take their hands out of their pockets to sign up for a triple commitment to collaborate in the end of the tragedy of traffic accidents.

Security Adviser Stefanie Heredia, Mayor Javier, Traffic Director and the sub delegate of the Government Anton Saenz de Santa Maria, ex-mayor Jose Angel, athletes like Enact Llanos, ex-cyclists such as Josepha and Juan Carlos Salvador, partners of Stop Racism and citizens in general have assumed not only the commitment to avoid driving after having drunk or not to use the mobile, to use lights and reflective vest when using the bicycle and to respect the parking spaces for disabled people, but to extend These good practices to at least one other citizen.

Rudi has participated in the central act of Stop Accidents in Esaki celebrated in Vitoria in which it has been recalled that during 25 people have died in traffic accidents, 9 of them pedestrians.

Stop Accidents has celebrated the World Day in Victory of Victims of Road Violence in the Vitoria Renaissance Square in an extensive event sprinkled with messages, complaints and feelings. A large mural called the ‘Tree of Desires’ became the permanent reference for each of the interventions because photographs of some of the people who had died in traffic accidents had been placed there. It remains all of people to care more about the road safety and keep them safe.

The Basque association, in a communiqué read in Eskers and Castilian, demanded that those affected by these events should be exempt from paying court fees when they see the need to plead before the Justice and also to address a modification of the Penal Code that raises Imprisonment for drivers who have committed a criminal offense. Normative changes that added to the commitments started by Imam Rude and to those who were pointed, finger high, almost all present.

TEST: New design reflective Jacket

Previously we have shown you some product of Vulpine, a British brand of urban cyclist clothing that stands out for the elegance and quality of each and every one of its garments. Anyway, if there is one that shines on the rest in your collection that is the Harrington jacket.

It is one of the first models that this firm launched and has maintained in its collection since its inception, only five years ago, improving it if it fits season after season. This jacket is undoubtedly the flagship of Vulpine, which has been expanding its range with different versions: the Harrington Rain Jacket, available for both men and women, which stands out for its impermeability; The British Harrington, an adaptation of the former for dry days; And the British Waxed Harrington, an exclusive variant that protects against rain and shelters a little more than the previous ones.

Before we begin to tell you our impressions about the British Harrington (or Lightweight Harrington), the model we have tested, we think it is worth making a quick review of the history of this reflective jacket, whose birth goes back to the 30’s of the 20th century . And is that its unmistakable aesthetic was popularized especially from the 50’s when myths like James Dean and Elvis Presley used it in the movies. Later, this iconic design was dressed in British television, by urban tribes like the moods and by stars of the stature of Steve McQueen, Frank Sinatra or Paul Newman. It is easy to understand therefore that the style of the Harrington has endured until nowadays already become a classic of the fashion.

But focusing on the model created by Vulpine, we must highlight the great work of the English brand to adapt this jacket to a cycling. Keeping its characteristic image, this model has a cut designed for all those who ride a bike around the city without giving up to dress with elegance when they get off their mount.

Slightly longer on the back to cover the lumbar, tight but not in excess, with long sleeves and asymmetrical cuffs to fit the user’s grip on the handlebar … Everything is designed in the British Harrington to offer comfort and good performance While pedaling.

Made in British Mille rain cotton fabric, its lightness is spectacular, but also protects us from the air when we roll at high speeds. In this sense, it should also be noted that even the YKK zippers of the two useful side pockets and the front (two-way for more convenience) prevent the passage of air or water.

Another aspect in which we have been pleasantly surprised by this vulpine jacket is that of ventilation. Its fabric is quite breathable, bearing in mind that with an urban use it does not sweat as much as on the road, obviously. In addition, the recognizable drawing of his shoulders hides openings in its rear that allow the passage of air and cool the interior.

We cannot fail to mention other interesting details such as chest and back pockets, both with flap and button closure; Reflective material rear trim for added visibility and safety; Or the adjustment buttons on the sides, to narrow the waistband of the jacket.

Vulpine has taken care of every detail of the British Harrington with utmost care, from zippered leather pulls or covered seams or the labels themselves. And we could qualify this jacket an authentic haute couture. Not surprisingly, its price reflects this: 295 pounds, which at the exchange is about 340 Euros. It is within reach of a few, but certainly a jacket as exclusive and of such quality as the British Harrington.

New techniques by reflective material of against paparazzi

Many celebrities will be happy with this news. He ran out of running like people when he saw a camera or put on ridiculous wigs to mislead the paparazzi. The new technologies are combined with the privacy of celebrities and new anti-paparazzi appearances such as reflective jackets, dresses that fade or bags that blind photographers. Little tricks that will make the life of the paparazzi a little more complicated.

A few days ago we saw Patricia Condi coming out of court with a brunette wig, a wool cap, a scarf and sunglasses, in the purest spy style of the KGB. If the Killer Karaoke hostess had met some of the new inventions against the paparazzi, she would have been much calmer.

A little by accident, the North American DJ Chris Holmes discovered that the reflective garments that he used in his performances prevented him from showing his face in the photos that his fans made at the concerts. In this way the “Anti Paparazzi Collection” was created, consisting of a coat, a jacket and a scarf made of a reflective material that, when the camera flashes on them, glow until they hide the user’s face.

He is not the first “inventor” who puts his cunning in the service of celebrities. The designer Ying pulled out the Playtime technology collection a year ago: “If someone tries to photograph or engrave the dress, it fades, making the result blurry.” For its part, the brand of handbags Cam flash launched a design with LED lights, capable of emitting when the user wishes a beam of light that blinds momentarily to photographers. Goodyear Tire Company advanced the guidelines of a photographer-proof car with a folding tunnel to get out of the car, smoke screens or co-driver costume.

Of course the celebrities and have spent years using good tricks to give the corner to the paparazzi. Roman Baranovichi, one of the world’s richest men and owner of Chelsea, installed a laser on his yacht, the world’s most expensive and largest, to prevent paparazzi from taking photos of him and his guests on board.
