Be safer on the way to school with reflective material

For drivers, it is important to pay attention in the next few weeks. The summer holidays are over; soon the new first years will be trained. However, beginners are also beginners in road traffic: they are still inexperienced and insecure on the way to school and therefore need special consideration. Together with the traffic guard, therefore participates in the action “Safe school path”. But also the schools of the area try to prepare their students as well as possible on the way to school and the special dangers in the place.

In all schools, traffic safety is always on the agenda. Martin Roemer, Head of the Joseph-Christian-Community School in Reutlingen, explains that the topic of the new education plan is also given in the new education plan: “The teachers and teachers are, of course, also going to the street and practicing the correct crossing of the street, for example and point to dangerous traffic situations.”Over the past few years, the school has also practiced the school bus security with the first years in cooperation with the bus companies and the police in safety vest. “This year, too, we have already asked the police,” says Roemer.

The considered detail when shopping for school bags

Expert Andreas Schulte explains what parents should look out for when purchasing the important companion through school hours. It is important to bring children. The bag is necessary and the reflective bag can keep children visible and safer on road.

Football, racing cars, dolphins, princess or horse: The selection of schoolbag motifs is enormous. For the children they are the decisive criterion. Parents should take seriously the wishes of their sons and daughters, but also pay attention to factors that are important for the safety and the back of the offspring when buying. Which are, explains specialist salesman Andreas Schulte?

Until the next I-Dote to be trained at the end of August, it still takes more than six months, but many of them have their school bags already under the Christmas tree or they get it for a birthday present. All models, which are in the business, simply try out, Andreas Schulte of leather goods Schulte advises against this. A glance at the size and body structure of the child is already sufficient for the expert to know that some of the models are directly eliminated. The reflective material of bags is necessary for children’s safe.

“Just because children are being kicked in earlier, they are correspondingly smaller.” Sure, that makes little sense to get the biggest sack out of the shelf. Andreas Schulte explains that the basic weight is between 800 and 1,300 grams. “But it’s not the easiest thing to do, because there are many criteria that matter.” “If the satchel jumps while walking, it does not sit,” explains the expert.

There is no question for Schulte that the child should be taken to the purchase of the skirts and that the companion should be tried “through the school days,” very important “even without a thick jacket with reflective tape. That’s why Andreas Schulte wants to see Schulte and he explains why: “The children should get a feeling for it.” What about the carrier system? How does the satchel sit in the back? Is a cavity formed?

3M invest 11 million Euros for new reflective technique

Reflective license plates and traffic signs, graphic films such as on the urban play mobile or diaper closures: products from the 3M Hilden factory are everywhere. With more than 900 employees, it is one of the largest employers in the city and the largest production location of the globally active US group in Europe.

From June 2018, Hilden will also be the largest test facility for the development of production facilities. 3M is investing eleven million Euros and is expanding the existing pilot plant to its largest and most flexible laboratory facility outside the USA. “The investment strengthens 3M in Germany and the Hilden location”, explains Dr. Jorgen Kline, Head of the Development Department Materials and Processes for Germany, Austria and Switzerland: “In Hilden, we can do almost everything we need.”

The investment strengthens 3M’s location in Germany and Hilden

A pilot plant for production facilities has been in Hilden for 13 years. “It is very powerful”, Kline counts on its advantages: “The employees are very experienced. For this, we can use the Hilden facility. And last but not least, the immediate proximity to Neuss was the decisive factor. “There is the headquarters of 3M Deutschland GmbH and the research laboratories. For the extension of the technical center in Hilden does not have to be built again. The space required is available, reports the head of the development department. 3M holds over 25,000 patents and produces 50,000 reflective material products. About one third of sales are made with products that are on the market for less than five years.

What Lindens is inventing and developing 40 employees in Neuss’s labs is tested on a small scale by six employees at the Technique Hilden. Solvent-free processes and products are a major topic in the material industry, explained Kline – because they are simply sustainable. Another trend is sticking. Among other things, 3M develops novel adhesive tapes and films for lightweight construction, explains Kline. They help to save resources and weight in the automotive and aerospace industries. 3M has started up a new production line for so-called dual-lock fastening systems in Hilden a few months ago and has invested five million Euros. These double-sided, very durable and detachable high-performance adhesive reflective tapes are used, among other things, in door seals or to connect the interior trim of a car to the body, explain Stephan Rain, the press officer.

The production, which has so far been based in the USA, is now moving closer to key customers in the region.

The reflective fabric trends for summer 2017

The new reflective fabric trends for the spring-summer season 2017, which have just been shown at the Performance Days in Munich, are likely to inspire sports and fashion brands alike: there has never been such a great deal of fashionable optics for sport. The materials of the future are becoming lighter, more flexible and softer. They promise to wear comfort, which is long since also interested the classic fashion customers. “37.4 percent of the visitors agree to the fashion sector,” says Stefanie Sakharov of the Performance Days, summarizing the visitor structure of the last event at the end of April. This is a considerable share for a trade fair, which has explicitly devoted itself to the functional substances. And what trends does the industry see?

More patterns, more structure, more prints

“The functional substances show a completely different picture compared to the last seasons,” explains Fabrics expert Ulrike in her trend presentation. “Patterns, structures, prints and 3-dimensional fabrics are getting stronger and stronger.” The change goes through the entire range, from the light knit for Base layer to the weatherproof 3-layer reflective material for jackets and trousers. Structured surfaces are achieved by new knitting and weaving methods or appear on the backs of the fabrics where they are e.g. as small 3-dimensional triangles or ovals. They give the fabric not only a futuristic look; they also serve as a spacer to the skin and thus ensure more wear comfort. Jacquards also give the fabrics new structures and patterns, as well as quilted or embossed materials, where several layers of fabric – for example by ultrasound – are fused together.

Prints had hardly played a role in the sport in the last few years, but the Cleary look was one of them. This could change, at least the fabric manufacturers will in the future rely on decorative surfaces and present flower prints, basics and geometric patterns.

In general, the trend towards particularly complex backs continues. For example, transparent jacketed fabrics are printed on the reverse side, the patterns also glimmering on the front side. Innovative reflective prints are also presented. They not only serve the safety aspect, but also deliver completely new optics through newly developed colors. Highlight is, for example, a fabric that combines prints that only partially reflect and show a completely different pattern at night than at day.

Just not clean: The performance fabric trends for summer 2017

Functionality becomes the USP

With the functions of the fabrics, the trend continues towards lighter, softer, and nevertheless hard-wearing materials. Even 3-layer materials for waterproof jackets have lost their stiffness and show a pleasantly soft feel. Elasticity is becoming the standard. Even substances, which were once developed as compressive substances, enter the regular sports and fashion collections due to their good wearing and jumping properties. Christian Weather from Agencies: “We are selling our polyamide stretch from the sports collection to pure fashion customers. They are always looking for beautiful materials for comfortable reflective pants and jackets. ”

With the focus on the materiality of the fabrics, the colors move into the background. After years of bright colors, more and more natural tones return to the sport.

Warning vests should be mandatory for cyclists

The Deutsche Police wants to introduce reflective warning vests for cyclists in Berlin. This is a new discussion about road safety.

Many bikers are traveling in the dark without light, endanger themselves and other traffic. Especially in the winter months, when it gets dark early, many cyclists are easily overlooked. The Deutsche police Berlin now demands that cyclists must wear a reflective warning vest from the dark.

“With warning vests, bikers can be better seen in the dark,” said Bozo, regional president, Berliner. “Therefore, at dawn and at night, there should be a duty to wear warning safety vest.” The demand arose when the radio drivers were consulted in conversation with the traffic control officials. Berlin’s cyclists would be racing through the city, especially in the evening hours without light. “The excuses are usually the same, the light has just broken,” reported of the experiences of the officials. “It’s especially blatant; it’s not going to happen anyway.”

The interest representation of the cyclists, the Deutsche Club (ADFC), sees the trade union challenge critically. “Those who want to make cycling safer, have to look for safe wheel tracks and ensure a good traffic climate through public relations, as shown by international comparisons such as Copenhagen and the Netherlands,” said Stephanie Crones, press officer of the ADFC. “Those who feel welcome and respected as cyclists on the streets are more likely to follow the rules. The need for lighting and reflective vest for bicycles is sufficient to ensure the visibility and perceptibility of cyclists.”

Berlin Fashion Week with fashion and safer

Fashion is love. Love is fashion. And love is sex. If the Berlin Fashion Week is transferred to the symbol of a love act, the first three days of the Berlin fashion week would have been a delightful prelude to the senses. Fashion clothing with reflective fabric, Great design looks, exciting events, delightful trade fairs, dazzling parties and visionary collections inspire the hungry modem crowd. Let them into a driven, film like and self-forgetful intoxication full of tension of the senses. Only to unload on the fourth day in an ecstatic, glowing and fumigant fashion climax: Marina for her autumn / winter collection 2017/18.

The orchestral strings and the drumming timpani fill the halls of the imposing Imperial Telegraphic Office. Already the first look from Marina’s collection rings her new, further developed design era. A floor-length, narrow-cut dress with elaborate black-red-iridescent velvet tendrils on transparent gauze opens the show. The models wear strictly braided, interwoven cornrows and dark lipstick. A stampede dance beat with insistent operetta singing sets in and replaces the epic classical sounds. This is followed by typical and yet reinterpreted creations for the designer. Fluorescent beads and Swarovski crystals applied to human support and movement devices in lacquer optics.

At all, reflective, reflective surfaces and materials form a stringent key element. Belt buckles may be missing as well as bondage straps and lacing. Everyone present will realize this at the latest at the appearance of the tippling model in the stiff, wicked and exciting song belt skirt. Rarely were women’s fashion so feminine strong and strict but at the same time fragile and feminine. The masterminds dare. Good luck! For this reason, the current star at the Berlin fashion heaven offers us what we have been in urgent need for years: courage for a skillfully free balancing act between art, commerce and unfamiliar portability.

Practice the school route again with wear safety vest

In the previous year, 570 children were injured on the way to school. The association “Large protect small” advises: “Always keep the safe way with older children, keep a high visibility vest, avoid distractions and reduce speed!” Every year, about 1300 children are walking around the country on foot, by bicycle or by road and sports equipment.

Almost half of them were injured on the way to school.

“Practice the school route not only with the schoolchildren, but with all the schoolchildren and the 10-year-olds who go to high school or the new middle school! Even if the path is not new: First, the holidays are much forgotten, secondly, important points have often changed. Parents of schoolchildren, together with the next generation, should best deal with the safest way to school in the last two weeks. It is extremely important that children not only know the traffic rules but can also apply them well “, emphasizes Holler Till, President of the Association” Large Protect Small “and Executive Board of the Grazer Kinder.

Lack of awareness of danger

The trigger for childish pedestrian accidents is often a confusing traffic situation. Children look less often on the left, run impulsively across the street, appear more suddenly behind obstacles, play with the mobile phone, follow people without looking and choose the shortest way.

In addition, the awareness of the dangers of schoolchildren is still reduced to the moment. They can only recognize ad hoc: “Now I am in danger”.

The anticipated perception of danger, which is so important for traffic safety, is not fully developed until 11 years.

Dangerous distractions

Distractions, such as the mobile phone, are a second serious risk factor: “Talk to your child that telephones, also a great danger for pedestrians. It is best to leave the next generation on the way to school, “advises till. Also the headphones stay better at home, so that the ears are free for traffic noise. On the sidewalk, it is important to go as far in as possible, not to run, push or catch.

Be sure to plan the time: Stress increases the risk of accidents!

Sleeping well and having breakfast? This is especially important for school children when it comes to attention and concentration – not only at school, but also on the way there.

Make sure that your child is wearing bright or reflective clothing and a schoolbag with sufficiently large reflectors, especially in the dark season – this is the norm of DIN 58124!

When your child walks: Choose a school path that your child can safely cope with! Take some detours for this!

Show your child that there is a need to pay attention to the traffic lights at the traffic lights!

The number of children walking to school generally decreases. Just before school days, too many cars are on the road just before school starts – because children are increasingly being brought by their parents.

“By means of regular pick-up and delivery services, however, children who are on foot are much more at risk,” warns the association.

In addition, children in safety vest often benefit from the fact that they are on their way to school: not only is their safety to be promoted in road traffic but also positive effects on the joy of movement, social relationships and the ability to concentrate in the classroom.

How to properly set the lights in the car

With fast dusk and limited visibility, driving in the autumn and winter time requires more attention and skill behind the wheel. A high visibility vest can enhance the bright can keep you safer. In front of us is increased traffic on the roads due to Christmas and New Year holidays and trips to the holidays.

Remembering your own safety and other road users, pay attention to the state of the lights in our vehicles:

– The driver must always have lights turned on – according to the road conditions

– Lamp shades should be clean

– The lights must be set correctly – otherwise they will light up too close or dazzle other drivers

– The lights are always replaced after replacing the bulb, reflector, safety vest, cullet, repairing the suspension. We recommend using incandescent lamps approved by approved manufacturers – do not install LEDs and xenon bulb substitutes.

– If the reflector or diffuser is frayed and the light is shining poorly or the beam is blurred, it is safer to replace the reflector with a new one.

– Remember that most of the lights in vehicles at night do not guarantee sufficient illumination of the road, because the range of correctly positioned lights is between 20 m and 70 m on the left and rarely exceeds 100 m on the right. It is worth remembering during the overtaking maneuver.

– When driving at dusk, with the passing beam, be careful and safe, which is often well below the maximum allowed. The light of our car may be much weaker than other cars, sometimes for our own safety we should go slower than others.

– Adjust the speed also on the corners – the passing lights are asymmetrical, so when turning the corner is much better lit the turn to the right, and at the turn to the left the road is lighted closer and we are much dazzle

– We appeal to pedestrians to use proven reflective surfaces as large as possible, and placed low, reflective bands on their feet. Attested reflective vests are best seen. The fact that pedestrians see the car lights does not mean that the driver sees the pedestrian – it is safer to go down the road.

Thanks to educational actions such as “Safe Driving”

Last year in Poland there were over 2.8 thousand. Year by year their number drops. In order to increase the safety of children and their awareness, it is necessary to educate the youngest. McDonald’s Polka for the 7th time has organized a “Safe Driving” educational program for students on the road safely. This year’s edition focuses on promoting visibility and wearing reflective safety vest.

– We have over 26 million registered motor vehicles in Poland, of which more than 17 million are passenger cars. The automotive factor is very high. Children and adolescents who go to elementary or middle school will sooner or later become the driver of a passenger car. Education is needed in the spirit of respect for the law. – It is a very good investment in the safety of the youngest and will result in the future of Polish roads will be more secure.

McDonald’s has organized an educational program for 8 years. This year’s edition of the program was a response to the continuing problem of traffic accidents involving children and insufficient awareness of wearing reflective.

“Safe Driving” is a program for public primary schools across the country, for teachers of communication and above all for fourth grade students, “says Dominick, communications manager at McDonald’s.”We care about the growing awareness among young people that what they do, their knowledge of traffic rules, the need to wear reflective elements directly affects their safety,” she says.

This year the patronage over the action was taken by the National Road Safety Council and once again supported by the Road Traffic Prevention Bureau of the Police Headquarters. McDonald’s licensees are also actively involved in locally promoting the school’s shares.

– This is an attractive form of learning for children. We provide educational materials, exercises, reflective vests and bands. During school children learn basic traffic regulations, how to safely move on the way home and what dangers they may encounter – explains Arcadias Droids, licensees McDonald’s Poland, owner of restaurants in Torun.

The “Safe Driving” communication education classes were conducted on the basis of didactic materials prepared by experts and positively evaluated by the Ministry of National Education.

– Interest is very big. This year 30 thousand participants participated in the class. From Torun alone there were 550 participants from 9 schools. So it is very evident that such an initiative is needed, Droids points out.

For almost half of the students participating in the lessons, the program ends with a bicycle card exam. Each student who successfully walks through the education process and passes the test will receive a card and a reflective set of secure cyclist.

– For 9 years we have already reached over 110 thousand. Students attending to 3.2 thousand schools and we still receive new applications. The program will continue, because we see a deep sense in this.

The police statistics show that only last year there were 2.8 thousand. Road accidents involving children up to the age of 14, 70 children died, over 3,000 children died, suffered injuries. Compared to 2006, the number of accidents involving children fell by nearly half, killed more than 53 percent, and wounded by 46 percent.

– Thanks to the program, children will be able to safely participate in crowded cities, both as pedestrians and as cyclists. – Safety is a commodity that must be attractively packaged, hygienist and thus sold to the youngest road users. Thanks to that the Polish roads will be more secure. Really great respect for the campaign organizer, McDonald’s, we count on further editions, “he adds.

Last year there were 458 accidents involving pedestrians who were under the age of 14 with age, the more children become independent, and the greater the risk of accidents?

This year’s edition of “Safe Driving” was a response to the still insufficient awareness of wearing reflective clothing. A pedestrian who moves in the dark without glare, the driver can see from a distance of about 20 meters. Visible reflectors increase this distance to over 150 meters.

Night tram ride without a destination

Almost all cities with tram lines organize events for fans of these rail vehicles. Elblag also has its enthusiasts who meet to make a tour of the city at night by tram.

The Elblag City Lovers Club has been operating since 2013. At that time, members in reflective vest began to collect tickets, drivers, timers, tables and timetables. These memorabilia could be seen a year ago at an exhibition organized on a tram in the Old Town. Their passion is to infect others, so on the night of 22-23 August they organized a tram ride through the city. The event was open and everyone could take part. The club announced it on their Facebook profile.

On the journey of the GT6-243 wagon, not only Elblag but also Gdansk and Germany did not go. More than 20 people stared at the city by tram pavement on a daily unused route. The ride started at. 23.40 And ended at 3.30. Previously the wagon had to be rented, and the cost per person was 35 zlotys. The organizers have prepared special tickets and direction boards to highlight the nature of the event. At the selected stops the participants went out to take a photo of themselves. Safety was also taken care of: the group was dressed in reflective safety vests, and each of them was supervised.

– Passers-by reacted very enthusiastically, they took pictures with us, we sang someone’s birthday “One hundred years” – says amused 16-year-old Pewee, a member of the Club. – We also met a police patrol who was a little surprised. The idea of organizing the Tramway Night was invented, “he continues. – We kept the spirit of the party, sang the song. In all Polish cities, where trams are, I have friends – thanks to trips and integration. Now I’m going to a mechanical college. What will later, I do not know, but I see myself in the world of trams?

“My family is working on the railroad, but I, as a toddler, was afraid to ride a railroad,” says Magdalena, who took part in a Thursday tram ride. – Later I had to overcome and not enough that I convinced it and I was fascinated. Then the first place was for me, and now there are trams. I’m going from September to train for a typewriter on a racetrack, though I would prefer a tram. I encourage all girls – interesting, because it’s really cool. I hope elbow-teammates will come up with such action more than once.

The City of Lovers of Urban Communication in high visibility vest has plans for a new Tram Nights. The exact date is not yet known. Tram enthusiasts want to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the GT6 and 5N wagons in our city and the 10th anniversary. They also want to ride the oldest 401 wagon on the loop at the General, because soon will be the 10th anniversary of the track on this street.
