Child safety on the way to school

The first step to improving the road safety of children on the way to school is education. And it’s not just about recipes. You also need to learn to anticipate the situation. You should go with the child several times to talk about the dangers and explain how to act in difficult moments. In addition, we must adhere to the rules themselves, because the youngest are observers, who quickly take over from us bad habits.

“If the baby is delivered, we always put them in the child seat. In addition, do not stop the car in inappropriate places to quickly release the child to school, “- says Maria, director of the Center for Road Safety at the Institute of Motor Transport, in an interview. Also remember that a child under 7 cannot go to school alone.

Parents should also take care of the right outfit for their baby, including reflective elements. As we move in the evening, we are only visible to the driver at a distance of 20 m. The reflector increases this distance even up to 150 m! When a child cycles, always have a helmet on his head.

Ensuring security is also a responsibility of the school and the local government. They should take care of the appropriate means of transport to bring their children to school and to train drivers and careers, hand out the reflective vest to students for visibility, as well as organize educational meetings for students.

The European Union regulates kitchen gloves

At present, there are no standards to guarantee that glove by reflective material will actually protect us from heat. The European Commission is planning, changing and wanting to introduce specific standards. However, this idea raises quite a lot of controversy.

About the first issue, the RMF FM radio reported. The Commission has decided to address this issue because there are around 100,000 in the European Union each year. Hand burns. This is because gloves more often perform decorative functions than protective ones.

In the EU since 1989 a directive on PPE has been in force. It includes safety helmets, ear muffs, safety shoes, life jackets, bicycle helmets, sunglasses and reflective vests. But these are all things used in professional work.

Now the European Commission has decided to add to this list … kitchen gloves. According to the planned records, each such glove will have to meet a number of stringent safety standards. The Commission ensures that despite the increased cost of production, gloves should not be much more expensive due to the mass of this product.

The UK has protested against this. “The Commission was supposed to limit the over-regulation of citizens’ lives rather than create new, unnecessary norms,” argued the British MEP. Most countries, including Poland, have no problem with the new regulations about the safety gloves.

Reflecting Angel for three years on the road

27-year-old Macias from Szczecin has been riding a bicycle in Poland since 2009, giving children a glare. On Tuesday afternoon he reached Trebbia and headed towards Charnel.

Macias is hard to miss. His bike has reflective gadgets; the rear is attached to the trailer. This is where she carries all the gifts: badges and vests.

– I was witnessing the car being hit by a car. Then I decided to act. I left the tour in January three years ago. What I’m doing is not a joke. On the roads is increasingly dangerous, so I try to help and give away glare. They can save lives – says Macias in safety vest.

It receives them from various institutions and companies. Sometimes he gets something in bike shops and at gas stations. He sleeps with good people, sometimes in a meadow in a sleeping bag. They get what they get.

– Last year, the residents gave me Charnel, and today helped me repair my bike. It is not bad – says Macias wear reflective vest, who was hailed in Poland as a Glittering Angel. The next point on his route is Bielsko-Biala, then Szczecin and Cracow.

Animal protectors wear reflective vest against the Hunters

The hunters tell us they love animals. They cannot understand that without reciprocity, ironically, Jake Koss wear reflective vest, one of the organizers of the Wroclaw against Hunters group, blocked the first hunt last week.

Every year in early November

Hunters meet on the festive hunt for their feast – Hubertus. Members of the Hunt St. Hubert in Legnica describes the meeting as follows: “Weather

Colleagues came in numerous numbers. We ran litters in the forest, where many animals and beautiful forest. Poker was one of the more beautiful in recent years! G. Plot played “deer on the decay” (bull and two lions), “boar on the decomposition” (three wild boars) and “predator on the decomposition”. The hunting king was Marlin Forint’s colleague, obtaining a bull deer”.

“Deer on the schedule” etc. are traditional melodies played during the funeral. Poke is in turn a solemn rite that ends the hunt. Hunters report at this time and arrange the animals’ bodies in such a sequence and position that determines the attractiveness of the killed game and the difficulty the hunter has to overcome to obtain it. According to current habits, animals are arranged on the right side, head towards the hunters, in order by species.

On a photograph of hunting in the woods dead animals lie on branches of spruce, surrounded by burning stumps. There is also a table with a tablecloth and a loaf of bread on it.

Culture without dialogue

Another hunting hunter from Legnica had to cancel. They were abducted by activists who stumbled on the Facebook profile of “Wroclaw against the Hunters” and set up a walk in the forest at the same time in the same place. They came in reflective waistcoats; they had posters with crossed drawings of the hunter.

– It was very culturally. Well, only one of them recommended a visit to a psychiatrist. The hunters were already out, but they immediately canceled the hunt – says Jake Koss, one of the organizers of the action. – Regulations do not allow shooting less than 500 meters from the “public meeting place”.

– Their faces are gone. They tried to convince us that we had to leave the forest; they even called the police – added Natalia, who also walked with the hunter. – They were not right. The policemen only made us out and let us stay in the forest, to the great disappointment of the hunters.

Animal protectors ensure that they are not afraid of walks in the forest when hunters are getting ready. They say they always have high visibility vests with them and keep the hunters informed of their presence even before the hunt begins.

Hunts are also cautious. Only once did Jack happen to have someone threatening to scratch his car. It is usually calm, though without a chance for dialogue.

Jacket Kudzu has already taken part in similar walks in the Forest. He locked with other hunting activists during the rut, which is the period of mating deer. They arrived a day earlier to the village, near the hunting grounds. They were doing a reconnaissance to locate the most important pulpits in the area and to map them. The next day they stood still before sunrise to wait under the pulpits before the hunters arrived. They were nice and cultured. After a few years the hunters just stopped coming to the ranch.

The same Wroclaw against the Hunters wants to achieve in Lower Silesia. Their profile, which lasts less than two weeks, has almost one and a half thousand likes.

Volvo Reflective Spray – Always be visible

olvo is known for its strong commitment to improving road safety. The Swedish manufacturer does not focus on cars anymore; he also cares about other road participants

Volvo is working on the safety of bikers Volvo will notice cyclists, but selected.

Volvo has for some time highlighted the safety of cyclists who are often involved in road accidents, especially after dark, when they are barely visible. The British branch of the brand has come up with an interesting idea for cyclists to always be visible without having to wear a reflective vest.

This innovative solution is the Volvo Life Paint, a fluorescent spray that can be sprayed onto any surface – bicycle frame, tire, and helmet or just for clothes. At night, the material covered by the paint reflects the car’s headlights. The reflective force is the same as the standard vests, so the probability of the biker being so clearly visible decreases drastically. The innovative product was created to increase the protection of bikers, but it will also improve the visibility of pedestrians.

Volvo Life Paint is now a promotional action (cans are distributed free of charge in London bike stores), but the Swedish brand does not rule out the introduction of fluorescent paint spray into its salons. You can already buy them from the manufacturer’s Web site, Albedo100. Paints are available in a variety of reflective colors and are also divided by the type of surface they can be applied. Life Paint costs around $ 100.

Children join the Reflective school activity

414 children have created today in Warsaw the “living picture” of Poland. The accomplishments of the students will be included in the Guinness Book of Records.

Just before seven in the morning, the first excited children appeared before Daniele’s shaft. Dressed in reflective vests, in colorful headscarves decided to subscribe to the famous book, and also repeat last year’s success and win the contest “Reflective school” again. Secondary School students not only created “reflective Poland” but also presented the geographical diversity of our country. Orange, yellow and green scarves symbolized mountains, highlands and lowlands, respectively. In turn, children with blue headscarves formed from the south to the north of the Vistula River.

Here is what the twins felt. To beat the record was enough for a group of 250 people. More than 400 mean a feat that will be recorded in Guinness Book of Records after official confirmation of Guinness. “We want to make you visible on the road,” emphasized the children involved. The record challenge is likely to bring ambitious pupils to the next victory in the “Reflected School” competition, which is organized by the Provincial Police Headquarters.
