Policemen call for caution and adherence to safe driving rules

Changing road conditions, quickly falling in the dark, fogs, snowfalls, slippery and wet surfaces significantly hinder driving. Remember that excessive speed and rapid maneuvers can contribute to the loss of control of the vehicle and, consequently, to collisions and accidents. Police officers in safety vest call for caution and compliance with the rules and rules of safe driving.

Deteriorating road conditions require more caution and increased concentration from drivers. In connection with rain or snow, roadways can be slippery, and in such situations, the wheels easily lose their grip. Remember that in many different places the road surface combined with rainfall, extends the braking distance of the vehicle, in extreme cases the driver may slip and not control the car. Overtaking in such conditions, passing, cornering can be very dangerous. Drivers should remember to navigate the road with lights on and observe the speed limits, and when weather conditions are worse, to slow down according to the principle that slower means safer. We appeal not to charge, think, or anticipate threats.

Let us be very careful on the road, especially after dark. Pedestrians are unprotected road users who, when adverse weather conditions become less visible to drivers.

A special appeal is also directed to pedestrians not to go directly in front of an oncoming vehicle. Even at the pedestrian crossing, you must first make sure that the driver will manage to slow down. Of course, the pedestrian takes precedence over the passage, but here the principle of limited trust is most applicable. Every pedestrian should also remember about his safety and take care to be visible. A reflective vest, key chain, headband, or even a flashlight will make it easier to see the oncoming driver when moving on a poorly lit road.

You should pay special attention to the depressions of the terrain, on hills, near forests and water reservoirs – the road can be particularly slippery there. Exercise extreme caution near pedestrian crossings. Also, be careful when commuting to them. If the pedestrian enters the passage, the driver may not slow down. In these conditions, the visibility drops and the braking distance is significantly longer. That is why it is so important to adjust the speed to the prevailing conditions and check the technical condition of your car. Changing tires, checking the condition of the wipers, lights and braking system should be mandatory activities that we will perform before winter. It is very important to take care of the appropriate field of view. Remember to clean the glass and mirrors of our car from ice and other dirt.

We remind you about the obligation to use reflective elements by pedestrians traveling on roads outside the built-up area – the use of reflective material improves visibility and thus safety.

Policemen persuaded pedestrians to wear reflective tapes

Police officers serving on the roads not only controlled yesterday how the pedestrians care about their safety on the road, but also gave the inhabitants reflective material. All this is as part of the “Keep an example on the road” action.

The aim of the police action was to promote the use of reflective elements by pedestrians moving not only outside the built-up area, but outside also where it is not required. It turns out that often accidents involving pedestrians also occur in the city. In many situations, they are invisible to drivers.

Yesterday, the police officers from the Citrusy unit controlled places of increased pedestrian traffic and checked whether the residents were complying with the rules according to which they should ensure that they were visible along the road. Pedestrians moving after dark outside the built-up area should wear a reflective clothing in a visible way for other road users.

During the action, police officers made pedestrians aware that this is not only a requirement of law, but also common sense, and the pedestrian-worn reflex is an expression of conscious, responsible participation in road traffic.

During the inspection, the officers handed out pedestrian reflective vest prepared specially for the occasion. The idea is to reach as many people as possible, so the subject of pedestrian safety is discussed during meetings with residents in various places in the podia. Police officers remind to see – it is not the same as being visible.

Motorcyclists must wear a reflective vest in France

In France, a country that is particularly keen on implementing all safety regulations, a new law will come into force on January 1, according to which every motorcyclist will have to carry his (important: carry with him) a reflective vest. The penalty for non-possession can range from 11 to 100 Euro if the motorcyclist was involved in an accident and did not have such a vest with him. Interestingly, the law does not prescribe to ride in such a vest, but only to have it with you. Does this have nothing to do with security, but only with the enforcement of the EU directive?

Another interesting fact: Putting a reflective vest with you will be acceptable, but all other reflective elements – no. Therefore, if, for example, you will have a jacket in a Yellow Fluorescent, while you are in control, but the lack of a hi vis vest in the glove compartment will give you a ticket. The rules apply not only to the French, but also to all motorcyclists. The recipe is already in force in France as far as drivers are concerned, but as of January 1, 2016, it will also include drivers of two-wheelers.

The figure in a reflective vest can be seen at night

For some time, mysterious characters can be found on the main roads in the Karenna commune. They look like real people from a distance. Being closer, we notice that these are only wire-shaped silhouettes that have been put on real reflective clothes. Residents wonder that they are metal pedestrians.”

We managed to find three places where wire people were set up. They stand by the road leading from Karenna to the village in Niece, and at the stadium in Korea. Perhaps there are more. If you met them at other points, let us know or send a photograph.

In none of these places, the men are not lonely. They always appear in pairs. One is wearing reflective clothing; the other is wearing a dark blouse or T-shirt.

It is not difficult to guess the goal that guided the inventors of the mission of the mysterious characters. We guess that they are to get drivers to take their feet off the gas and give them food for thought… It is enough to pay attention to their clothes. Both men are quite visible during the day. At night, however, the situation changes dramatically. From a distance, we can see the figure in a reflective vest, while the second one can be noticed only from a close distance.

Who “sent” the wire people to the side of the Root Road? Whenever we solve the puzzle – we will let you know!

Mandatory reflective vests from September 1

From September 1, every pedestrian walking after dark outside the built-up area will have to wear reflective clothing or a headband.

According to statistics, about 1,000 pedestrians and cyclists die in Poland on dark roads every year. From September 1, everyone moving around at dusk along roads in the unconstructed area will have to have visible reflective elements. Janus from the slip road in Soups should be extended by unpublished areas, including built-up ones, because many municipalities cannot afford sidewalks and illuminate the village all night long.

From the beginning of next month, however, we will be looking closely at pedestrians walking on roads outside the city. At the beginning, we will be instructing those undisciplined, but then punishing the seats – says the deputy head of the traffic department of the Soups command. What are the mandates? The new provision on the need to wear reflective vest is not yet included in the tariff. Until this happens, we will issue fines on general terms, from PLN 50 to PLN 100 – he adds to the poke. However, it is not about the level of seats, but about the safety of pedestrians. Many people note that in the minds of pedestrians and cyclists, especially those of adults, there is no need to wear reflective vest.

There is a terrible fashion for black. People rarely ask for reflective vests. When I order yellow or red panniers for a bike, they lie for months, and customers ask for dark ones – says Mikoyan from the bicycle shop, where you can buy reflective elements. The local government was planning to take care of the reflective education. At the meeting in the City Hall, representatives of the office, municipal guard and neighboring municipalities, police, organizations for the disabled and the elderly took the floor. They talked about statistics. In addition, so far, the words ended, because the Arabesque association, which initiated the action, did not receive ministerial money. It is different in rural communes, where the risk of an accident on an unlit road is much greater.

There were tragic situations with us. Near a village administrator died on an unlit road, and at the exit from the national six to Starry the car hit a cyclist. Fortunately, it has already managed to win the construction of safe descents – recalls Pewee Lewandowski from the Community Office in Dominica. We have been campaigning for the safety of our children a year ago, together with “Goes Somoza,” where all the first ones were given high visibility vests and comic booklets, we urge the elders to wear flares, distribute them at festivals and harvest festivals to tell the pulpit about road safety.

Reflective vests improve the safety of the youngest road users

180 reflective vests went to children from schools in Lemuroid and Sowing Botany. This is the result of the action organized in cooperation with three companies from the Plessey commune

The road to school for children who live in Selecta away from the city is not always safe. The youngest inhabitants sometimes have to move along the side of the road, without a road or pavement, only a hi vis vest. It is therefore important to carry out initiatives aimed at improving safety on the way of the youngest inhabitants of our commune. We decided to take this initiative – says Lukasz, the originator of the action.

Over 180 reflective safety vests were handed out. Nearly 140 went to pupils from grades I-III from ZSP in kindergarten students, and 45 to preschoolers and pupils from the 1st-3rd grade in Primary School in Sowing Botany. In both institutions, police officers also appeared, who explained to children how to behave on the road, what to avoid.

Bicycles, when traveling on the public road, must be run in a single row. When cycling PE, do not cross the road to pedestrian crossings! Motorcycles are forbidden by bicycle. You are prohibited from cycling on public roads covered with ice, ice or snow. During cycling on public roads, bicycle drivers are required to have their identity card on them.

How do you have to equip your bike?

In traffic on public roads, the bicycle shall be provided with an effective braking device, with a suitable, functional steering system with audible warning system (the fitting and use of vehicle-specific audible warning systems is forbidden). In addition, at night, the bicycle must be equipped with white or yellow light in front and back with red light and at least one visible, reflective vest, reflective device of the same color. At the same time, the bicycle must be equipped with elements or devices that, in turn, form a continuous, fluorescent-reflective circle, orange, fixed to the spokes of the wheels.

– Drive the vehicle without keeping the wheels in contact with the ground.

For failing to fulfill these obligations, you are liable to sanction! Comply with the law, for added safety! “

City police officers teach children prevention and security

Crime Prevention, Traffic Education, and Safety are introducing the work of the City Police, its police officers and crime prevention assistants. This and much more was the content of a series of lectures that the Municipal Police in reflective vest organized for the pupils of the second to fifth grades at the Elementary School. Discussions with school pupils and students have proven to be an effective form of prevention for several years.

The lectures were divided into three sections. In the first one, the children were introduced to a crime prevention assistant who explained what the assistant’s work is. Another area covered the work of the police officers and the explanation of their work, when children could see and “hitch” the equipment of the city police. The most interesting ones were, of course, handcuffs, a radio, or batons. In the last round, the children responded to basic questions about traffic education and road safety. For the right answers, they received small gifts as a reward.

Each of the 300 children covered by the lecture got a reflective hand strap or a briefcase with the City of Program logo to increase the safety of people on the road. These reflective accessories are mandatory after the amendment to the Road Traffic Act from February 2016: a pedestrian if it moves outside the village under reduced visibility on the side or edge of the road in a place not illuminated by public lighting must be clearly visible.

Walkers in the dark with reflective tapes only

The Senate unanimously approved an amendment that, among other things, will allow municipalities to restrict traffic. Norm also orders pedestrians to wear reflective vests outside the village if darkness or otherwise impaired visibility.

The law also allows police to withhold a small technical license in the event of a poor technical condition of the vehicle. The Senate has decided against it today, despite the efforts of some senators who wanted to take police officers the right to measure speed or to allow cyclists to ride even after drinking less alcohol. The novel, which also obliges motorists to clean vehicles from ice and from snow, if they prevent them from being out of sight, now gets the president to sign.

“The ministry of transport has a negative opinion on the proposal to drop the possibility to measure the speed of municipal vehicles by the police,” the minister of transport, Dan, told the senators. This was substantiated, inter alia, by the fact that this change was not discussed with the authorities concerned and its impact on traffic safety and radar investment in municipalities was not assessed.

He wanted to remove the right to measure the speed of the chairs of ODS senators and the Mayor of Teplice. He argued that many municipalities want only to improve their income and speed to measure outside the built-up area. He also pointed to the administration and the increase in unpaid fines, which he said last year was up to 43 million crowns.

What does the law introduce?

– Municipalities can regulate the operation of trucks

– Pedestrians can move between the villages in the dark or otherwise reduced visibility only with reflective stripes, otherwise they are liable to a fine of up to 2000 crowns

– The police can withhold a small technical card if the vehicle is in poor condition

– Motorists are obliged to clean the vehicles from ice and snow if they prevent them from looking

– the authorities can take a driving license for a half-year to the driver who crosses the railway crossing at a time when signaling works

Senate Vice-President proposed to allow cyclists, according to the Austrian model, 0.8 per mile of alcohol in the blood if they were traveling on third-class roads or cycling paths, or alternatively 0.5 per mile. He also wanted to limit the maximum penalty for alcohol for cyclists to 500 crowns. He argued that police officers often collect fines on wine-growing cycle paths. “Two wines are certainly not what threatens safety,” said Korma. However, a similar proposal by the People’s Deputy, Jixi Junk, refused to approve the amendment last December as well as the Chamber of Deputies.

The Minister of Transport has said that the responsibility for pedestrian reflective elements, such as vest or only sleeve strips, would amount to a fine of two thousand pounds. Book also said that the ministry had a deal with the police to give people more of their reflective tapes. He also announced that his office is seeking an agreement with the Czech Association of Insurance Companies to ensure the removal of non-mobile vehicles. He responded to Senator Ditka request that the government take action against overtaking.
