Children and adults wear reflective vest for safety

Numerous clubs are organizations and companies to inform on Friday together. For the visitors there is plenty to look at and to taste.

For children to be seen on the roads, bright and reflective vest and school bags are important. What to note only that is the subject of Road Safety.

No drinking and driving and a bicycle helmet: Road safety is far more than the health, clothing, equipment, knowledge and proper behavior in an emergency are also included… At the first Road Safety Day tomorrow, Friday children and adults can learn a lot about it – and try it out.

The idea was born at the inauguration of civil protection Hall in September, says Tanya, recently head of the police station. Red Cross and fire they had then asked whether a joint exercise would be possible with the police. During the preparation has become of it a great day of action, which is now tomorrow, Friday, December 2 takes place.

At 15 o’clock is the joint rescue exercise of police, fire brigade and the Bavarian Red Cross in the playground. But there is a much more extensive program. She was pleasantly surprised at how much commitment and ideas, there has been in the preparation, told the police boss. Also herself lying on traffic safety at heart, she says: She had even been the victim of a serious car accident. “I am suffering today under it.”

That people are a bit more secure in traffic on the road that is the goal of the first traffic safety tags. More than a dozen clubs, organizations and companies have prepared a variety of information and actions. Visitors can look, try and ask questions numerous experts. Of course, visitors can see ambulances, police and fire trucks and learn about the work of rescue and security services. But Tanya says: “For traffic safety every individual can make a contribution.” For example, are the proper diet for a good circulation, good vision and the right equipment important? The optician can make an eye test, test in the Road Safety with a noise glasses, how to be drunk. There is information on alcohol and drug prevention and brief training in first aid.

“Together safe” is the theme of the day – and so all should be addressed, both big and small. It’s about the car, school bus, bike. Children can be trained to “Children Commissioner”, the adult’s backward parallel parking practice with the trailer. Students present a fashion show on “security through visibility” and provide information about school bags and driver education. The net proceeds from the beverage and food sales the day of the Road Patrol Augsburg will be donated to youth traffic school.

The Road Safety Day takes place on Friday, December 2 at the bus station, the playground and inside the elementary and middle school. Morning 8:45 to 12:00 are the elementary, middle and high school students on site, from 13:30 to 17 o’clock; there is the program to the public.

More safety of reflective vest for bikers

Since the New Year is in France for motorcyclists duty to wear reflective clothing.

More safety for motorcyclists: Since January 1, is reflective clothing in France duty?

Violators will be punished by a fine of 68 Euros. Then the ADAC draws attention in Munich. The new regulation applies to bikes with a displacement of more than 125 cubic centimeters or vehicles of category L5e (motor tricycles) with at least 150 cubic centimeters. All of them need to wear reflective vest or reflective tape to keep safe on road.

The clothing should not reflect from the outset. An additional armband in sufficient size is, for example, permitted. The material must also reflect only at night and not be fluorescent. Also, a specific color is not required by the French authorities. However, the reflective material had to be carried to other road users clearly visible on the upper body.

Reflective clothing increases safety in winter

In the dark season pedestrians and cyclists are particularly at risk. Special, reflective clothing makes them more visible – and increases their safety on the streets.

Bright clothes alone are not enough to make pedestrians and cyclists more visible in autumn and winter. Anyone traveling in dark or bad weather should wear clothing with incorporated retro reflective and fluorescent materials.

The German Traffic Safety Council (DVR) recommends highly visible clothing in winter for all the safety of all traffic users: “This ensures early detection by other people and avoids accidents,” says DVR spokesman Sven Researcher.

Light clothing is visible on the street in the headlamp of a car up to a maximum of 40 meters. “With reflective elements, the distance increases up to 150 meters,” says Radish. While retro reflective materials reject the light directed to them, fluorescent material is charged by light.

When buying, consumers should ensure that the garments comply with the European EN standards (ISO 20471 for clothing and warning vests). Alternatives to clothing with incorporated elements are special reflector straps, which are worn on the arms or legs. Reflective clothing can often be found in sports shops, the reflector racks, for example, in the bicycle trade.

“If you are traveling with your children or grandchildren, the little one should be equipped with reflectors on clothes or additional reflector straps,” advises Reducer. Also prams and buggies should make parents visible – for them, for example, there are LED lamps for the baby carriage handles, as well as luminous reflective stickers or light strips for the frame. Once again, according to the DVR recommendation, the buyers should orient themselves towards EN-certified products.

End of Reflective Armband: it’s official

It is official: the bikers do not have to wear the Reflective armband. A publication in the official newspaper of January 1, 2013 ending a year against an absurd decree, he said: “Decree of 18 December 2012 repealing the order of 3 January 2012 on the retro reflective devices worn by all drivers or passengers a motorcycle with an engine capacity of 125 cm3 or a vehicle of the category L5e a power exceeding 15 kW.”

Hiccups

Remember, there is now a year to the day, Jean-Luc, then Delegate for Road Safety, launched a decree to force wearing a retro-reflective device 150 cm2 for any driver two motorized -Wheels greater than 125 cm3.

This decision followed many hiccups created by the government of the day. What was a reflective vest became armband. A narrowing is caused particularly by the anger of many riders out in the streets of major cities in France.

Suspension

Following the 2012 presidential election and the appointment of a new interior minister, Manuel Valla, the tone changed. At a press conference November 27, 2012, he announced the suspension of the “decree cuff” after the first meeting of the Committee for Road Safety.

FMWC

A victory for the French Federation is Angry Bikers (FFMC), which has continued to struggle against this decree full of nonsense. On 24 and 25 March 2012, for example, thousands of bikers had then responded to the call FMWC throughout France: in Paris in particular, nearly 15,000 people marched through the streets.

The meetings of the new NSRF about reflective equipment, which will begin early this year, will focus closely on two wheels. At the conference of November 27, Manuel Valla was explained: “The motorized two-wheelers and especially motorcyclists will be the subject of attention because they use a mode of travel that makes them particularly vulnerable motorcyclists are in 2011, 23% of motor vehicle users killed on the road. ”

Hope that future steps will be taken with a little more discernment than the cuff.

Manuel suspends the reflective cuff: return on a flop

The bikers will not have to wear a Reflective tape on January 1. The interior minister, Manuel Valla, announced on 27 November at the launch of the new National Road Safety Council Phew, ‘Decree cuff “is suspended!

The Interior Minister, Manuel Valla, announced at a press conference on November 27, following the first meeting of the National Road Safety Council (NSRF), it comes to reform after 4 years of interruption. The French Federation of biker’s angry (FFMC) shows relieved and highlights the vision of the Minister, who wants “assessment of the device”.

Doubt about the interest of the measure.

The least we can write is that Manuel Valla does not seem to consider that 150 cm2 retro-reflection on the arm will save bikers: “I have asked that a dialogue be committed on the retro-reflective equipment“, he has explained to reporters. “Pending proposals, I asked to suspend the provisions initially selected on the cuff”.

End of wintering motorbikes need safety equipment

With fine weather, bikers stand their gear. Good equipment and mechanical revision are advised to avoid the tragedies on the road.

Last Sunday, a tribute was paid to Tibet; 19 years young biker without wearing reflective vest died following a collision with a car (read NR Monday March 7). Proven vulnerability: per kilometer traveled, motorcyclists are 23 times more likely than drivers to be killed in a road accident.

“We can dare to think that prevention is useful,” says Karina Coequal, road safety coordinator at the prefecture. Linger sentiment shared by the commander, the head of motorized gendarmes, who organizes every May to the handling session’s pilots. “Good figures also linked to numerous road checks by the police of the Loir-et-Cher – 90,000 hours in 2015 – to improve road conditions and good coordination of relief.”

Of mandatory soon approved gloves

Suitable equipment is also a guarantee of safety. Pants and jacket with integrated protections and high boots are recommended.

“Not to forget to affix mandatory reflective stickers on the helmet,” says Raphael Beltran, license inspector to lead to the Departmental territories. This fall, the Committee for Road Safety decided to make it compulsory, in addition, the port of approved gloves.

Still, this equipment has a cost. Raphael Beltran would work with insurers to help pilots fund their equipment: “The discussion is open.”

In winter output, it is necessary to also take care of his two-wheeler with a mechanical inspection including” pour casual drivers that run only beautiful days. “Tire pressure drop during the winter or it allows a good grip on the road. The lubrication of the chain kit, checking the braking system and lighting are also important.  “It seems obvious but a fault on these items can be very serious.”

By 2017, the government wants to establish a technical control for motorized two-wheelers used for sale. Bikers do not see it that way. A demonstration is planned Saturday in the streets of Blois. The Federation of angry bikers of Indri-et-Loire considers this unnecessary decision, arguing that accidents occur as a result of human error. The Linnet commander believes however that such verification is useful: “The mechanics are too often forgotten.”

Angry Motorcyclists in reflective clothing manifest today in Blois, from 14 pm at the fairgrounds. They denounce the technical control for powered two-wheelers for sale, envisaged by the government.

The police in safety vest recruit new recruits

In Chile, we found the way to remedy the abandoned dogs and the problems of patrols! Indeed, now the Chilean police in safety vest adopt the stray dogs so that they become companions of ground.

The Chilean military police, also called “Carabineers”, has decided to recruit new field agents, and they can be said to have dogs! Indeed, the stray dogs of the town of Quileute have now become true carabineer.

Dressed in their reflective waistcoats, like their human colleagues, the dogs take their missions very seriously. And thanks to this good functioning, dogs have housing, food and are safe. In return, all four legs must protect their colleagues and keep them company during long patrols.

The police’s initiative was put in place following the death of a stray dog in front of the police station … the latter was overthrown by a car, and this tragic accident upset part of the brigade. Since then, the carabineers are determined to save and protect the abandoned dogs!

The new police dogs are already well used to their new job. Indeed, when their human colleagues go into a trade, the doggies have to wait wisely at the entrance that one returns to look for them … and it works!

Quileute’s dogs wear reflective vest has nothing more to fear from wandering thanks to these wonderful policemen! An absolutely formidable initiative is that could give ideas to other police stations hopefully.

High visibility reflective Spray equipment Aledo 100

Presentation

Assuming that the best way to survive an accident is to not have them, the British branch of Volvo distributes a reflective spray allowing cyclists to travel very visible at night. An innovation that would see is successful motorcycle or scooter.

The time change has just concern more … visible, but the difficulty of users of two wheels to be seen when night falls or early morning remains a recurrent concern. Those who do not want to don a retro-reflective vest or do not have a jacket equipped with the Night Eye technology MACNA will welcome with a smile spray Life Paint after seeing the video at end of article.

Launched by the Volvo car brand that is known to have made safety a priority, the spray Life Paint is actually developed by the firm to which Albedo100 retro-reflective material paints are a specialty. The Life Paint is a misnomer because it is not paint but a washable material to be sprayed on any surface (frame, helmet or clothing). It is naturally eliminated after a few days or the first wash (for the version for textiles). If Volvo’s communication highlights the security provided for cyclists, one cannot help but imagine the use that could be motorcyclists and scooter drivers: if you know you will return at night, one can occasionally “paint “his jacket, his pants or his helmet. They retain their natural color day and once lit by headlights, refer bright white, while making the wearer visible.

The Life Paint is currently distributed in some shops in England at a price approaching 20 € to 100mL. It is hoped that success will be waiting for you and motivate Volvo and Albedo100 to offer this technology throughout lowering prices.

Update November 4, 2015: Aledo 100 is now sold in France, in two versions, for safety clothing, textile or metal surfaces. Parisian bikers will go to Star Motors Bastille while the command can also be done online. From our side, the test is already planned. To be continued…

Poland imposes yellow vest to pedestrians

Yes, you read correctly. In Poland, it will soon wear a reflective vest around on foot. Specifically, a project under discussion in law in the Polish Parliament provides that persons traveling by night, and outside cities, will wear the famous expensive vest (or not) to Karl Lagerfeld, or other clothing with stripes reflective. The text, adopted on 13 June by the Diet (equivalent of the National Assembly), has yet to be considered by the Senate and could come into force by the end of the year.

This amendment to the Highway Traffic Act proposed by the Liberal government of Donald Tusk and voted unanimously, is the only measure found by deputies to respond to road hazards affecting the country. Polish roads are among the most dangerous in Europe, as recalled this article from The Economist. “Poland has a mortality rate on the road to 110 million, almost double the European average (60), and even pathetic in relation to the United Kingdom (30)”, tells the British liberal weekly.

These traffic fatalities are mostly motorists but also among them cyclists or pedestrians. He regularly comes to speeding drivers tomb to open narrowly avoid nobody journeying on making sidewalk office. The night, which starts at 15 hours in the winter, the risks are even higher. We move on foot of a small town to the other, after drinking a glass of beer or even vodka, or just you come home after a day’s work.

The yellow vest, presented as a comprehensive insurance by his supporters, yet does not please everyone. The journalist Kowalski published on his blog, an article that rebels against this omnipotence granted to the automobile. The text has been seen more than 100,000 times and generated hundreds of comments, most hostile to “oblivious pedestrians”.

Speed drunk. Rather than encourage motorists to respect the limits speed, ask radar or speed bumps or establish a technical inspection of vehicles, we choose to defer responsibility for accidents on pedestrians. In other words, if a pedestrian not wearing a yellow vest is reversed, at night and in the countryside, it will be possible to exempt the driver from responsibility, even if he hurtled at high speed and with alcohol in blood… Poland does not have, like France with the Baiter Act 1985, a law considering the driver responsible when his motorized object is involved in an accident.

“After the entry of the country into the European Union in 2004, European funds were used to build beautiful roads on which we got used to driving fast, well beyond the 90 km / h permitted” recounts Olivier Schneider, a French-Polish activist ( his blog here, in Polish ) who writes a column on transport on the FM radio . “The car is still queen in Poland,” says the activist. There are some months when the government of Warsaw has proposed radar installations on Polish roads, most of the political parties themselves up against it “draconian”. Radar in areas where we have already seen accidents, perhaps, they claimed in essence, but not willing to chance on the roads.

The debate on road safety and the place of the automobile in society causes, in Poland as elsewhere, lively discussions. In Warsaw or Krakow, battalions of police verbalize pedestrians suddenly fines of 100 zlotys (€ 25) passing through the red light or outside zebra crossings. Regularly, the opportunity of a driving license for cyclists or pedestrians even comes up.
