The reflective vest is already mandatory in France

Since the beginning of the year, all motorcyclists in France (also motorcycle tourists, take note) must necessarily drive with a reflective garment stored in some compartment of the motorcycle.

Seen the headline may panic, but blood does not reach the river. In France since January 1, 2016, it is compulsory to ride a motorcycle with a reflective vest stored, so that in case of emergency you can use it.

Three years ago, France was about to adopt a law by which all motorists were required to ride on the road with a reflective vest. Finally, the protests of thousands of bikers in the streets stopped the initiative, although the French government has now returned to touch this matter with an intermediate solution.

Since the beginning of the year all motorcyclists in France (also tourists on motorbike, take note) must necessarily drive with a reflective vest stored in a compartment of the motorcycle or wherever possible, to be used in case of stopping on the shoulder breakdown or other incident.

In case of non-compliance have already planned penalties, which are 11 Euros if the police detected that the biker has not kept this item, and that will rise to 135 Euros in case the rider is stopped without wearing the item that supposedly had saved. Now, there are many jackets, shirts, … that have some reflective band, but that is not enough, you have to wear an approved emergency vest, there are several types, with two bands, with crossed bands on the back, … and colors.

This measure will be a headache for all those motorcyclists with motorcycle models not specially adapted to carry belongings with them. In addition, according to the French Federation of Motorcyclists in Cholera (FFMC) does not solve the problem arising from not being visible until the biker does not put the item in question, something less simple than in case of wearing a safety garment under the seat in a car that one can be placed comfortably before leaving the cabin.

What to wear to run with this cold winter

These tips are, if you are still thinking whether to start running in winter for fear of freezing and for those already runners who become “hermits” every time winter comes. Low temperatures will not be a problem if you know how to carry the right reflective material to keep you warm, safety, dry and comfortable.

The comfort level to go to run and in this case, do not freeze, depends on many factors. You can specify some: how fast you are going to run, the level of cold and how long your training will last.

Knowing these three premises is easier to know which equipment to choose, first not to freeze and second to not have to be cursing the heat that you are going to have over coated you and not knowing what to do with all the “layers of onion” you carry. So that this does not happen to you, then to indicate some rules of the game that you must have present to equip yourself of runner this winter.

Basic winter running apparel

Protect the limbs: Remember that the limbs are the weak points that must be protected when we go running in winter. The neck, head and hands are the first parts of the body to lose heat.

Hot feet: Another tip to take into account is the feet. There is nothing more annoying than having your feet frozen. To keep your feet warm, run with sneakers that have less amount of grid and you will see how the cold does not catch you. Also wear socks that drain moisture, but keep your feet warm.

Hot, but not sweating: When you start to run and get warm, your perception will be about 10 degrees higher than the outside temperature, so it is normal that the previous few minutes have a little cold. The first rule is that you wear garments made of technical fabrics to absorb sweat, with zippers on the neck and ventilation in the armpit area. So as you go into warmth you can aerate.

Dress in layers: If you are thinking that you are going to feel like an onion, the answer is yes, but in this case you will feel like a light onion. I resorted to the rule of three layers:

The layer 0 and 1: is the reflective garment that will be in contact with your body and its function is to remove sweat from the skin. Use non-absorbent materials, made up of synthetic fibers, if possible without seams.

For women, layer 0 is the sports bra, so it is so important to know how to choose your size and model (remember that for high impact sports such as running you have to wear high fastening bras). Layer 1 is composed of the technical shirt to keep the skin dry. Remember to avoid cotton materials as it retains sweat.

Layer 2 (intermediate): Its function is to isolate thermally. Eye. These garments do not heat us directly, their mission is to retain the heat generated by the body and prevent it from cooling down.

Layer 3: this layer will act as a bump in the inclement weather. Here we talk about windbreakers or cameras.

Finally, in addition to knowing what to wear to not get cold in this winter time do not forget that safety is essential. The light is limited in winter and you will most likely run at night. Wear reflective and fluorescent clothes, and do not be shy, nothing happens because you call attention for miles; the important thing is that they see you and run safe. Now, leave home or the gym and check yourself as you do not freeze.

New design with reflective material

This is the new Pace Hansen Venezuela presented on Thursday April 7 at his shop Toulon Fashion Mall. The reflective garment belongs to the category training and is inspired by the night sky of northern Norway, where the famous auroras are contemplated borealis.

Raven, marketing manager for the brand, explained that this shirt training is aimed at people seeking a healthy lifestyle and those who engage in running when the sun goes down. “The greatest quality of the shirt is that it has a high reflective material, allowing the rider not go unnoticed in front of the cars” he said.

The product is made under the technology of X-Cool fast drying, in order to regulate the temperature and durability. It also has holes in the sleeves for the thumb, which provides a better fit and regulation of body temperature when training in colder climates.

Local addition, customers can find the piece in the Costa Azul Mall (Isla de Margarita) and the Simon Bolivar International Airport.

“It’s a very limited garment with reflective fabric. In fact, only 30 athletes will enjoy it.” said Raven.

This brand, founded in Norway (1877), develops textiles through a mixture of Scandinavian creativity and knowledge from the most hostile environments in the world, representing an optimal combination of performance, protection and style.
