Policemen persuaded pedestrians to wear reflective tapes

Police officers serving on the roads not only controlled yesterday how the pedestrians care about their safety on the road, but also gave the inhabitants reflective material. All this is as part of the “Keep an example on the road” action.

The aim of the police action was to promote the use of reflective elements by pedestrians moving not only outside the built-up area, but outside also where it is not required. It turns out that often accidents involving pedestrians also occur in the city. In many situations, they are invisible to drivers.

Yesterday, the police officers from the Citrusy unit controlled places of increased pedestrian traffic and checked whether the residents were complying with the rules according to which they should ensure that they were visible along the road. Pedestrians moving after dark outside the built-up area should wear a reflective clothing in a visible way for other road users.

During the action, police officers made pedestrians aware that this is not only a requirement of law, but also common sense, and the pedestrian-worn reflex is an expression of conscious, responsible participation in road traffic.

During the inspection, the officers handed out pedestrian reflective vest prepared specially for the occasion. The idea is to reach as many people as possible, so the subject of pedestrian safety is discussed during meetings with residents in various places in the podia. Police officers remind to see – it is not the same as being visible.

Walker does not have a chance in a car crash

Taking dark clothing in November with no reflective material and going out on the roadside, on the road, can be a gambling with life. Has the new duty of wearing reflective elements helped reduce the number of pedestrian and car crashes, which usually ends tragically?

“The duty to wear reflective elements on clothing is valid from mid February this year. People seem to be observing and observing the law, “said Martin from the Malta Transport Inspectorate of the Police of the Czech Republic.

He pointed out that, while last year, forty-five accidents were caused by under-lighting for pedestrians, this year’s police have recorded forty cases of vehicle drivers not being able to avoid traffic on time. He reminded everyone of the recent accident that did not go unheeded.

“In the evening, the car driver overlooked a pedestrian who was on the D10 motorway in the section of the reconstructed Bride Bridge and did not wear reflective vests. He was also under the influence of alcohol, “said Martin. According to him, the most risky season is coming in the autumn, the place, and then the crossing behind the roundabout. Pedestrians should pay attention to where and how they are going.

“It is important for the driver to make eye contact, so he registers that you are going to pass,” advised police spokesperson Lucie Novak, saying that reflective tapes should be worn on the part of the body you are facing towards the center of the road.

How to use reflective accessories correctly

A fashion show of reflective accessories was prepared by South Moravian police officers for visitors of Thursday’s event on Moresque. At the event called “Let us see who leads guests,” the organizers have warned of the possibilities people can prevent from accidents. “We want to emphasize the importance of security enhancements. We need to be seen, because we have only one life, “said Petra. A pedestrian and vehicle traffic accident always has tragic consequences.

At the Basil stand, the children tried to identify dangerous situations. They evaluated whether it was good that the children in the picture played on the road. “So they do not have to read the lengthy questions, so they are pictures. We have hidden in them also those who do not usually have problems with children. The parents are worse off when they try to hurry quickly and overlook them, “said Panel, the coordinator of the Basil team.

Basil’s glasses contributed to the program, giving the impression of drug intake or drug overdose. “I was afraid. I heard it was a headache, but it did not seem like I was spinning. I saw the pink color instead of red, but the problem did not do it to me, “wrote Vera from Brno. She was also attracted by reflective material. Like bags and rugs that she would like to buy her grandson.

The most popular reflective elements are by Hands Strip on a hand, cranberries, or various pendants. “The colors are beautifully seen behind the lights. Silver is good again in the evening and in the dark. When the light comes from the car, the pedestrian lights up and attracts the driver’s attention,” Horizon said. Reflective material is visible at two hundred meters, and the driver has a longer reaction time.

The obligation to wear reflex extras outside the village for diminished visibility has a legal obligation. “It would be best to wear them constantly because the pedestrian crossing may be ill-illuminated. The man in dark clothes is so easily overlooked, Horizon added.

The fire brigade arrived in a car-carrying car for traffic accidents and car fires. They have shown the expansion pliers they use when they get rid of an obstacle. The ambulance also attracted attention. People are most interested in how it looks inside. They also asked for revitalization. “There are various myths about it. Many people think that when a straight line on the ECG occurs, the rescuers in safety clothing must immediately defibrillate. They know it from action movies, “remarked rescuer Node. At the same time, the rescuer tried to put things right. “There are only two defibrillating rhythms, and only you can fix them with a shock. So when the line is straight, the rescuers resurrect and the rhythm of the chest massage may occur.

These are the characteristics that the reflective vest should have

From January 1 on all vehicles must be worn with a reflective vest, measure that seeks to reduce traffic accidents and collisions of drivers when they get off the car. Those who do not comply with the regulations will be committing a slight fault and will have to pay a fine that varies between 0.2 to 0.5 UTM.

In order to comply with the law, it is necessary to be clear about the characteristics of the vest that must be worn.

Characteristics of the vest

– Yellow fluorescent material

-It must have bands of retro reflective material with a width greater than 50mm

-The vest must be in a place accessible from inside the vehicle, so that the driver who gets off the car does so with this element.

According to the decree, these alternatives can be used:

-Two horizontal bands bordering the torso separated by a minimum distance of 50mm and bands that joins the upper band of the torso from front to back, passing through each shoulder.

-A horizontal band surrounds the torso, and bands join from front to back over each shoulder. The 50mm distance should also be maintained.

-Two horizontal bands are surrounding the torso, separated by a minimum distance of 50 mm. The lower part of the lower band must be at a minimum distance of 50 mm from the lower edge of the safety vest.

Pedestrian protected by mandatory reflective elements

A serious traffic accident happened on Tuesday evening in the center. A passenger car smashed two young pedestrians without safety vest – a man and a woman – on Masaryk Square at the crossing. Both of them ended up with moderate injuries in the hospital.

The accident took place before the eighteenth hour in court. The rescuers immediately took the place. “The cause of the accident is being saved,” said police spokesman Jana. The thirty-nine-year-old driver sat behind the wheel of a passenger car. According to the first information, the woman was not fully involved in the proceedings. Tuesday’s accident was the first serious this year, when pedestrians were hit.

They become victims of accidents quite often, only last year, 131 pedestrians died in traffic accidents throughout the Czech Republic. To dramatically improve this tragic balance would be obliged to wear reflective elements in the dark outside the village, which the politicians have approved.

“A man in dark clothing can see about 18 meters in visible conditions, if he has reflective elements on himself, the driver can see it up to two hundred meters,” says North Bohemian transport expert Jan.

But for a man in dark clothes, he is almost certain that if he gets into the carriageway, the clash is practically inevitable. For example, a 60-seater car travels for only one second of less than seventeen meters, practically the entire distance to which the driver had the chance to see a pedestrian in dark clothing.

“The driver’s response time is approximately one second. So, when it reaches the pedestrian, it collides, “explains Jan, why people should wear reflective elements.

In his opinion, however, they should not only wear them outside the village, as they are re-enacting regulations. Even in cities there are many places that are poorly illuminated, but that does not apply. Such a place can be, for example, the road near the middle school of agriculture.

Traffic policemen are also preparing to control the new duty.

“But first, we will focus on preventive action to get the information as close as possible among people,” says regional transport police.

In the last week of February, it will be possible to meet traffic police at a number of busy places where they will be able to give away reflective elements such as ribbons or vests in cooperation with BESIP.

The new law states: “If a pedestrian is traveling outside the village in a low visibility on the roadside or on the edge of a road in a place not illuminated by public lighting, he is obliged to wear reflective material placed in such a way as to be visible to other road users Roads.” People can do something else: If they do not have reflective elements, they can get in the dark in the dark with a flashlight or a lighted mobile. That can save their lives at night.

A few tips to move in the dark

Running in the dark has its spell, but it also brings traps. We cannot count so much on our sight, and we become “invisible” to others. Sometimes the reflective vest can give runners some protection. Parks are depopulated and the earlier twilight brings in addition to an unpleasant feeling a real threat of assault. However, it is enough to stick to a few principles to eliminate the risks of the run.

The days are slowing down and the nights are coming sooner. Those of us who have got used to running in the evening in the summer are faced with the decision: to run in the dark or to get up and run … in the dark too? If we are not freelancing, we will not pick up too much with the coming winter. But in the dark there are a lot of pitfalls waiting for us, and it does not necessarily have to be just a subversive element that, under the cover of darkness, enters the runner on the unlit route. It can be ourselves if we are uncomfortable with an inappropriate reaction, an inappropriately chosen route, or a bad outfall.

  1. Be seen

The main motto of the night runner should sound “Always illuminated!” Or at least try to reflect the surrounding light. If you run along roads or on bicycle trails, you should at least have a small headlamp and ideally the back red light. A reflective tape with LEDs is good, which not only reflects the light but also flashes or flashes. You’ll buy it for less than a hundred crowns at bikes or on the internet.

It is also suitable for clothing with reflective elements or at least in bright neon colors, thanks to which you notice yourself at dusk. If you run with the headlamp, be considerate to the opposite: eye-sight and nodding for the greeting we are accustomed to in the light can make them unpleasantly dazzled for tens of seconds. Look straight ahead or head slightly in the opposite direction.

  1. Drive upstream

If you run along a road or on a bike path, it may have its advantages – such a route is often illuminated and well-arranged. On the road, we usually do not go to the opposite direction, but we are not doing so much on the bike trail. We should always run against the direction of majority traffic so that we can register cyclists or vehicles against us in good time and avoid them in time.

  1. Do not stop your senses

It’s a rule that all our jogging magazines and tutors on self-defense courses keep constantly in our heads, but we just do not like it. Letting your favorite music at home means for many runners to get out of the rhythm. But we also voluntarily give up another important meaning. As if it is not enough that darkness is ruining our eyes. Running with headphones means registering a person, a cyclist or a dog behind you often to the last minute. In the best case, you are scared; you can become an easy victim of an assault. If you cannot run without music, try at least one headset.

  1. Keep familiar routes

Investigating in the dark the unexplored areas do not have to pay off. On the one hand, you do not have to guess how far you can get, and you can also hurt yourself in case of impaired visibility. Just an unexpected change in the surface of the route, the asphalt hole, the stones or the narrowing of the road and the unpleasant fall is in the world. If you are bored with the same routes, or you like to indulge in a bit of adrenaline, get yourself a quality headlamp that will illuminate your route. Sometime used the reflective material will be better to keep safety.

  1. Citizen with you

The last advice may sound a little too paranoid and morbid. However, a citizen’s passport in the pocket may not serve well only when examining and identifying the body. You can also get a special bracelet ID (about 200 crowns on the internet), which is not only reflective, but you can also include personal information including what medications you take or have an allergy.

The basic rule of night’s running is not to make unnecessary problems, whatever they are, to know about themselves and to be more receptive to their surroundings. Then you can enjoy running in the dark as well as on a white day or maybe even better – the dark run has its magic.

Reflective fabric is used by cyclists

Levi Strauss, the alliance has something to surprise. Thought for urban cyclists, the Jacquard project was presented last week at the Google I / 0 2016 conference in Mountain View, California. Sensitive to touch, the reflective fabric of the first jacket connected allows interacting with its Smartphone, without having to take it out.

In 2011, we launched the Commuter Trucker collection. Dedicated to urban cyclists, the line adapts the classics of the house to the specific needs of those pedaling in city dress. Thermal properties, resistance, elasticity, protection and even safety – we have worked on reflective fabrics in the dark, to make cyclists more visible at night – the collection aims to combine design and performance for the benefit of sports. So, because innovation is inherent in the Commuter collection, we thought it was the perfect place to incorporate the Jacquard project.

It allows cyclists to control their Smartphone from a distance. By way of example, the jacket may, by vibration, indicate when the user receives a call or message. The user can program the gesture (tapping, friction) which will activate the desired functions on his telephone. Listening to music, taking a call, launching a GPS, or learning about the buildings you are crossing … all this becomes possible, just by touching your left sleeve. The garment thus becomes a co-driver, avoiding the pedal to let go of the handlebars and divert his attention.

The engineers in charge of the project wanted to create the simplest technology to facilitate its integration by the weaving factories. Thus, they have created a fiber similar to a reflective material, but incorporating wires of conductive metal alloys. This allows you to integrate a tactile interface directly into the fabric. This simplicity of integration is what makes Jacquard’s interest.

Soon, we will develop more diverse interfaces solutions, such as LEDs, hap tic feedback (which allows us to reproduce real touch sensations on a tactile interface) and microphones. APIs will also be introduced to allow manufacturers and developers who wish to see their applications used with our clothes.

Aesthetically speaking, the garment is very successful because it looks to be mistaken for the iconic Levi’s denim jacket. How did you manage to reconcile fashion and technology?

Do not let technology constrain appearance was our main challenge. Fashion and technology must work together, but there is an inherent tension between the two. We wanted the garment to look like any other Levi’s jacket, the technology was as useful as possible and its appearance as discreet as possible.

Another constraint was that the jacket had to go through the machine. For this purpose, it is sufficient to remove the electronic module which covers all the operation of the wearable device before washing the jacket.

The connected fabric will not be reserved for Levi Strauss. Other brands will be able to use it, as they would with any other fabric. More than the technology itself, it is the designers and their apprehensions of the needs of the consumer who dictate the architecture of the product and value the connected clothes. By abandoning the idea of exclusivity, we want to create a creative ecosystem that will benefit everyone, and in particular consumers. We are proud of this technology and look forward to seeing it evolve and expand on a large scale.

A test version of this first connected reflective jacket should be available to developers this fall, before being released in the spring of 2017. No awards have been announced.

Preschoolers will be safer if wear a reflective vest

Preschoolers will be well visible on the sidewalks and in the streets. They will receive reflective vests and special reflectors. For the moment, such gifts are enjoyed by children from kindergarten number 13 in Myles.

Vesting and reflectors are accompanied by a police lecture. At the same time, the policeman recalls the most important safety rules for the youngest. In addition to wearing reflective jackets, going through the pedestrian crossing only at the pedestrian crossing and in the green light, cycling only on designated lanes or cycling paths or walking on the left side of the road.

In the next days, sets of vests and reflective materials will reach all Myles kindergartens.

The action is under the patronage of President Myles Daniel, sponsored by several local companies.

Protect seniors better with reflectors in the dark

The senior security adviser and senior security advisers would like to draw attention to something that concerns not only senior citizens:

Not only now applies in the darker uncomfortable season on the road: “see and be seen – reflective clothing” Critically endangered in the dark on the road are elderly, but also children, if they are not seen in dark clothing.

Therefore the senior security advice of the forum senior local Agenda of the city Ham asks the press and seniors associations, important to stress, just go clearly on the road to be seen as “weakest” road users. Contributes to light-colored clothing, also are effective reflective material bracelets and clothing, safety vests or union. This is especially true walker users who should definitely choose existing sidewalks.

The photo above clearly shows how easily overlooked and jeopardized Gird lamp in the middle with walker is. And on the contrary, next are as visible and effective the applied warning signs with his wife Rosy and Peter Mullin that protect them with reflective vest so while walking on the road.
