The version in yellow and black fluorine is intended for those who want to become the center of attention during the adventure. If you want to achieve an elegant style, the model in silver and metal is perfect for you. The version in earth and sand tones is designed for lovers of off-road routes. In addition, the Rallye set is also available in black, for those who are looking for garments with a design that works for the whole year.

 

The Rallye set made of ballistic nylon and Maxtex fabric, with triple seam laminated nylon reinforcements. This makes their level of resistance to tears and abrasions very high. It also has protections with CE approval on knees, elbows, shoulders and a level 1 trellis. Reflective tapes have also been included to allow the pilot to be seen by others.

 

The jacket and trousers in this set have the advantage of adapting to any climatic situation. This is possible thanks to its waterproof and breathable Sinaqua membrane, its heat-sealed zippers and ventilation perforations, with which the body will perspire while eliminating heat. It also has a removable inner thermal lining that will keep the body safe from the cold no matter how low the temperature.

 

To ensure comfort while driving, RST has provided this set of ergonomic elastic panels behind the knees, elbows, and shoulders. In addition, the three versions have inner and outer pockets and zipper binding, so that the pants and jacket remain attached. Both garments have an adjustable waist and arm straps, and other adjustable adjustments in the neck and lower part of the trousers for a perfect fit.

3 tips for running in the dark

Especially in winter, when the sun rises late, sets early and there is summer time, it is inevitable to go out in the dark, or in poor lighting conditions. And unfortunately there is not always a way to run on exclusive tracks for runners and closed to traffic: we often end up running on the street and on the sidewalks with the consequent dangers given by the traffic of cars and motorcycles.

 

When you go out running in the dark it is essential to think first of all about your safety, trying to be as visible as possible. In at least three ways.

 

  1. Use clothing with reflective materials

Especially in the winter running clothing lines all brands now include reflective tapes or fluorescent colors at will: look for those with the highest high visibility surface (and obviously forget uniformly colored jackets and tight).

Put yourself in the shoes of a motorist absorbed in his thoughts: he will see you better, first and more clearly if he sees something illuminated moving on his horizon. Then add reflective bands to legs, arms and if you can even to shoes (you can also use reflective tape on the heel).

However, what speed we develop will depend to a large extent on the equipment we have. Good results cannot be obtained with a poorly running machine. WOMEN’S MOTORCYCLE CLOTHES 2019

Only a few years ago finding a decent motorcycle clothing for a woman was bordering on a miracle. It took some time for the producers to adapt to the changing market. Motorcyclists can now choose motorcycle clothing in a wide range. We are looking for a textile set.

 

Leather, textiles, city and tourist sets, sports and off-road. Every self-respecting manufacturer has not only “women’s versions” of its motorcycle clothing, but also lines dedicated to women. They differ, of course, in sizes and cut, but when it comes to quality – materials or pads used – women’s clothing does not stand out from the male. The times when “motorcycle clothing for a woman” meant only a few pink patches were already behind us.

 

It is worth noting that for several years on the roads there are more and more motorcyclists, and last year Ana Carrasco won the WSSP300 Class Competitive World Championship, thus going down in history as the first biker who won at this level. It, even more, motivated the producers of motorcycles, clothing, and accessories.

Textile set for women – SECA Stream III jacket and SECA Hybrid II pants

 

One of the most popular is the SECA Stream III jacket available in two colors – black and light gray. SECA, moving with the times, adapts its motorcycle clothing to the needs of motorcyclists, going far beyond visual cosmetics. Thanks to this, the Stream III jacket has an adjoining cut with a notch at the waist and wide size. Stream III is available in sizes from XS to XL.

 

The SECA textile jacket is made of Duratec abrasion-resistant material. Additionally, it has MeshProtecto reinforcements. Passive safety takes care of passive safety. Women’s motorcycle clothing – SECA Discovery II and Rayden II pants

If not Stream III, SECA Discovery II is the second one. This tourist model visually reveals its destiny. Discovery II has Betac CE elbow and arm protectors and was made of Duratec material. Discovery II comes in two colors, black, and titanium. Especially the latter does the impression.

 

The removable Humax membrane, resistant to an 8000 mm water column, ensures comfort. Discovery II, of course, has a full lining and also – as Stream III – 3D Mesh panel on the back. On warm days you can open ventilating RespirAir + zippers. A lot of outer and inner pockets and a large adjustment range in the waist and sleeves will make it possible to match the jacket to anybody structure. You can attach Rayden II pants to the jacket with the 360 zip.

 

Rayden II also has a tourist destiny. Thanks to the closures at the bottom of the leg the pants can be put on the shoes, which favors further trips in worse weather conditions. Rayden II has a Reiss membrane, warming knee protectors CE (the possibility of using hip protectors) and reflective tapes. The pants are only in black, but great – slightly contrasting – they blend in with the Discovery II in titanium color.

Not everything gold shines – reflections

As promised in the previous article, once a month we will post information about reflections for motorcyclists. For what? Increase your visibility and thus improve your safety. The time has come for news from the world of flares. The first question should be “how do flares work”?

 

Retro reflection is the principle on which glare works. It consists in the fact that the light (like car headlight) bounces off the reflective material and returns to its source. Reflective materials have such a structure that the light is reflected in a direction close to that from which it falls (not only when it falls perpendicularly). This structure is created by special elements placed on the material – glass microspheres or small acrylic prisms.

 

When describing these technical details, we had a specific goal. Since we already know how the reflectors work, the next question should be, do all the reflections “shine”? Unfortunately not. Only certified glare “shine”. There are two ways that will allow you to check whether your motorcycle reflections work:

 

Take a picture with your phone turned on with your reflections off at a distance of about 6m. If you see a characteristic flash in the picture, it means that your reflections are OK. After a few washes of your motorcycle clothing with reflective elements, do this again. If the picture has the same effect, it means that your reflections are of good quality. Unfortunately, it often happens that unproven reflections lose their qualities after several washes (fluorescent material and reflective tape lose their properties).

 

The second way is to remember this abbreviation – EN 471. If the reflections are certified, the label should indicate that the product made of materials that meet the EN 471 standard or the product meets the EN 471 standard.

How were the different reflections taken?

 

The creators of the Hen Visocznia campaign intentionally took pictures with a mobile phone with a flash so that everyone could do the test themselves. The warehouse where the photos were taken – the light is minimally entered through the windows above the model.

 

We have two types of photos:

 

The light coming through the window + fluorescent light;

Turned off fluorescent (imitation of semi-darkness).

The pictures show how different reflections are available on the market. It’s great that you want to ride in reflections. However, our article is to educate, what to look for when buying accessories with reflective elements.

 

What is the EN 471 standard?

 

High visibility warning clothing for professional (professional) use. The standard specifies the requirements for clothing visually signaling the presence of the user, to be seen and seen in hazardous conditions with daylight, and headlight. Specifies the visibility class of reflective, fluorescent material and the class of reflective material depending on its reflectivity factor.

 

This article contains some technical information about flares. Maybe a bit boring, but very important and worth remembering. Why are we writing about it? Because we met several times with the actions of many companies that wanted to promote their brand, handed out various reflections, most often reflective vests. The objectives of the campaign were lofty, but unfortunately, these vests were often not certified, they simply did not shine in artificial light (in the headlights of automobiles). So someone in Poland has overcome and put on such a reflective vest to increase his visibility. Moves after dark in an unlit place, with the awareness “I am visible.” And here is a surprise – reflections do not “shine” and we have a tragedy.

 

If you already wear reflections, pay attention to whether our reflective motorcycle vest, belts or suspenders are certified and shine.

A reflector that saves lives

It is impossible to tell how many people wearing a reflective vest saved their lives. Most often, millions of wise pedestrians are mentioned, who from the accident saved the reflecting “guardian angel”. Why are the reflections so important? As explained by PZU experts, with poor visibility, no reflective materials, the pedestrian is visible on the road in the car’s passing lights from a distance of only 20-30 meters. At a speed of 90 km / h, the driver overcomes 25 meters per second and may not be able to react when he sees a pedestrian. However, if the pedestrian is equipped with a reflective element that reflects the lights of the car, the driver will notice it already from a distance of 130-150 meters, which is much faster. It can save a living life. “If we are visible on the road, we become much more secure. Just pin the reflection to the school backpack or put on your hand. Such a small thing – a reflection, in certain situations may prove invaluable and protect a child from an accident,” explains Dorota Macieja, a member of the PZU Życie Management Board.

 

For years, various institutions have been trying to convince pedestrians to wear reflective elements.

 

On January 25th, the “Reflex Day” is celebrated. Its originators are Norwegians, and since 2017 it is celebrated in Poland. The primary objective of the campaign is to promote the use of reflective elements with reflective tapes, especially by pedestrians. The PZU is also encouraged to wear the reflections of the youngest road users. As part of the “Reflective – safe child on the road” campaign, by the middle of September, she will provide 1.6 million reflections with a flashing light built-in to all primary school students from grades I-III in Poland. The campaign was under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of National Education.

Reflexes for seniors on the occasion of Grandma’s Day

On the occasion of Grandma’s Day, policemen and city guards in Szczecin distributed the reflective wristbands which made of reflective materials to the seniors. The officers emphasize that this is an opportunity to make older people aware of how to safely navigate around the city.

 

“This grandmother’s Day and tomorrow’s Grandfather’s Day was an excuse to meet the seniors once again, remind them of caution on the road, to always look around before we enter the road,” said Karolina from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Szczecin.

 

“We also provide reflective elements to light our seniors a bit, but of course, we remind you that this reflective tape is only an addition, our caution is the most important when moving on the way,” added the officer.

 

Residents of the city were positive about the action. Many of them admitted that thanks to reflections, it feels safer on the road.

The Pocket of Hope Droplet is empty!

The money box in the Druthers Radiant hospital pharmacy is empty! But the target of the thief did not happen. Its content ended up in the bank account of the Kafka Nadine Endowment Fund, which donated CZK 27,110 to the pharmacy visitors and patients.

“This year we opened the box with the endowment fund logo for the third year, the selected amount being the second highest in history. The record is held in 2017 when we sent over thirty thousand reflective vests to projects that help children’s patients across the country, ”said Ego Harlan, spokesman for the Druthers Radiant Hospital.

People have accumulated nearly 75 thousand crowns in three years. Who contributed last year was entitled to a gift with a foundation fund logo in the form of reflective tape. “But, according to pharmacists, the vast majority of visitors only contributed and did not ask for a good deed,” Harlan said.

As the hospital continues its charitable project, the money box is slowly filling up again.

Two cyclists died after being hit by a SITP bus in downtown Bogota

One of the victims lasted almost a week fighting for his life, but he did not survive. Only last January, 26 bicycle users died in the country.

Juan David Escarole, one of the cyclists who died, was 31 years old. According to his relatives, he dedicated himself to creating functional bicycles. He was part of several groups of cyclists in the city.

He lost his life last Saturday after being hit by the bus when he was traveling in the seventh race with 36th Street next to his partner.

The person accompanying him was transferred to the San Ignacio hospital, where he did not manage to overcome after several days with a reserved prognosis.

On the bus driver, the chief of police of the Traffic Police, Captain Henry Castro, said that “he was transferred to Legal Medicine where he is tested for drunkenness and discarded. Subsequently, he is left as a suspect before the Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of murder. ”

Authorities remember the need for all road actors to respect traffic rules, including cyclists, who must move around authorized areas and wear a helmet and reflective vest with reflective tapes.
