Holidays on the route: should the mandatory insurance policy be printed?

New provision shed light on this issue. What can the authority ask the driver of the vehicle?

With the arrival of the End of the Year Festivities and the Summer season, from the Road Safety Executive Unit (UESV), from the Public Services Secretariat, drivers were informed that it is now possible to travel throughout the country with the proof of insurance digitally, so it is no longer essential to take the printed payment slip. That is to say that it is valid to take proof of payment of the policy in digital form, in any electronic medium, such as cell phones or tablets.

The National Superintendence of Insurance and the National Road Safety Agency also recommend downloading the “My Safe” application on cell phones (in the search engine it is found as “Meguro”, all together and with lowercase letters), with which you can check if the insurance of a patent is valid.

However, if the insurance does not appear as current in the application, the system may not have updated that information yet. In this case, they recommend asking for the policy on paper or in a PDF or photo file, which can be displayed from a mobile device to the authority that requires it.

Mandatory elements in the car

Article 30 of the new Road Safety Law of Mendoza states that vehicles will meet a minimum number of requirements, among which are carrying fire extinguishers, beacons, reflective vest with reflective tape and first aid kit, that is, a basic safety kit.

The fire extinguisher must be located in an accessible place inside the vehicle and that does not represent a risk to the driver and the passengers. It must be manufactured, maintained and controlled its cargo, which has a due date, according to the specifications of the IRAM standards.

The two beacons must have a triangular shape and can be replaced by a flexible or rigid cone with retro-reflective bands no smaller than 55 cm high.

The reflective vest may be of any color and must possess the retro-reflective bands with reflective materials in conditions.

Another element is a first aid kit, which must be located in an accessible place, in good condition and transportable.

It is important to wear a reflective vest

In the village, a seventy-five-year-old pedestrian died on Sunday evening when crossing the road. Senior’s high speed collided with the arriving car. However, it was not the only Sunday accident in which the pedestrian was a figure.

“The older man (75 years old) went in the direction of the village and decided to cross the main road near the gas station,” said police spokesman Stefan.

But at that very moment, the blue ford was coming from Laplace. Then, the car was “picked up” by the left front of the pedestrian. The broken windscreen shows the impact strength. After the crash, the senior man was on the road. His injuries were so serious that he succumbed to them.

The Ford driver did not grasp, the drug test was negative. “The police also found that the deceased walker had no reflective materials or reflective vests, he had a dark black jacket and gray trousers,” Stefan said. with the fact that the reflective tape can save lives especially at this time of year.

A similar accident was solved on Sunday afternoon by police officers. A minute before 4 pm, the senior knocked down the pedestrian who went after the transition. A sixty-year-old woman transferred a helicopter to a Pilsen faculty hospital.

At the same time, South Moravian police officers reported on Wednesday’s accident, in which the Civic Walker on the Chernobyl street in Brno also hit the car.

“After the accident, the driver agreed to take her to the hospital, but after returning the woman to the hospital, she did not return to the scene of a traffic accident, nor did she tell the police what the law was doing,” police spokesman David said.

Police officers now ask drivers and potential witnesses to stop at the nearest police officers or call 158.

They have to protect their lives on the roads

It is a tool to protect cyclists or pedestrians. In the dark, in the fog or in the dark it is supposed to make them visible to the driver. This is to protect their lives. But most reflective tapes do not work the way they are. With extensive control, the CIA totally failed.

The results of this year’s Czech Trade Inspection (CTI) control action are sad – 90% of the checked reflective tapes and reflective vests were not right! The inspectors reviewed 37 types of reflective tapes and 33 law violations found.

CTI has focused on reflective tapes to protect consumers when moving under reduced visibility on the roadside or on the edge of the road in a place not illuminated by public lighting. The inspectors checked the fulfillment of the essential requirements – specifically photometric requirements according to the relevant standard, labeling requirements, including CE marking and providing additional product information.

The vast majority of products on the Czech market did not work. “Most of the deficiencies related to the CE marking and the retro-reflective properties, almost 90% of the controlled reflective tapes failed,” says CTO spokesman.

Retailers and distributors of dangerous products in most cases violated the law and received 27 fines of CZK 317,000. At the same time, the CTI banned the sale of non-conforming reflective materials or ordered the removal of the identified shortcomings.

At the same time, the Inspectorate recommends that consumers purchase such reflective tapes that have mandatory particulars such as the CE marking, manufacturer and product identifiers. Controls revealed that products meeting these statutory requirements at the same time had retro-reflective properties.

The Czech Trade Inspection supervised pedestrian reflective tapes

This year, the Czech Trade Inspectorate completed a control activity aimed at fulfilling the basic requirements for reflective materials. Specifically, these were photometric requirements according to ČSN EN 13356 (Article 4.2.2), reflective tape marking requirements, including CE marking and requirements for providing additional product information. Inspectors checked the purchase of such reflective tapes to protect consumers when they are moving under reduced visibility on the roadside or on the edge of the road in a place not illuminated by public lighting.

The Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out an inspection of 37 economic operators – distributors. In total, 37 types of products were checked and deficiencies found in 33 of them, where reflective tapes did not meet the requirements of the standard on photometric parameters, the requirements for mandatory designation of specified CE products or did not meet other information obligations. In total, almost 90% of the controlled reflective tapes failed.

The Czech Trade Inspectorate imposed a ban on the distribution of some products for the identified deficiencies or ordered the removal of the identified deficiencies. 27 fines of CZK 317,000 were legally imposed as part of the control action.

The Czech Trade Inspectorate recommends consumers who use reflective tapes in reduced visibility to buy such reflective tapes that are provided with mandatory data, such as the CE marking, manufacturer and product identifiers. Controls revealed that products meeting these statutory requirements at the same time had retro-reflective properties.

Half of the reflective tapes sold do not have the required properties!

Reflective ribbons to wear pedestrians under reduced visibility outside the village do not always fulfill their function. It is claimed by the Czech Trade Inspection, according to which half of the samples sold do not have the required properties. The light does not reflect enough and the driver cannot see the pedestrian in time.

“The Czech Trade Inspectorate inspected 37 reflective tapes, out of which 33 found violations of the law. Most often it was the fact that reflective tapes do not have enough retro-reflective materials, “said Czech Trade Inspector Jami Froehlich.

“The difference in quality between these tapes may be up to sixty times. If they are poor, we are 60 times worse off seeing the person moving outside the illuminated area, “Igor, spokeswoman for Central Automobile Club (UAMK), said.

Inspectors for the sale of poor-quality reflective tapes awarded fines to businesses worth a total of 300 thousand crowns. It was also the Czech Post that had to sell it, but it sold a good but unmarked CE symbol.

“Of course, we paid the fine with the fact that we were claiming the tapes at our supplier. He added the correctly marked tapes and paid us the fine, “Czech Post Spokesperson Mayes Vatic said.

And even if you have a high-quality reflective tape, it’s important that you place it in a visible place. Best on the hand and foot towards the road.

Lions Club equips kindergartens with safety vests

With brand-new reflective vests, the Lions Club is equipping several kindergartens in these days.

With brand-new warning vests, the Lions Club is equipping several kindergartens in these days to increase the safety of the girls and boys cared for here on the road. A total of 170 safety vests at six kindergartens will be handed out.

On the morning of 9th October, the children of the kindergarten gladly accepted the new safety vests with reflective tapes, which they immediately tried out. With 60 pieces this device is considered. The handover was carried out by the president of the Lions Club, Johannes, and the club member Sebastian.

The action took place for the second time after the Lions Club sponsored the first time safety vests with reflective materials in kindergartens in 2014.

Yellow Beanie action

Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe has a tradition of distributing the popular “yellow caps” to the first graders in the business district at the beginning of the school year.

In the past 30 years, there were about 85,000 pieces. The reflective material of the caps ensures that the children are perceived better in the darkening season on the road.

But the caps alone do not provide the necessary security and so learned the ABC shooters using the youth transport schools and the police doll stage Mainz, how to behave properly on his way to school.

Representing the Binger elementary schools this action took place today in the primary school, where since the beginning of the school year are going their new way of life. Headmaster Christophe and Lord Mayor Thomas Feser welcome this campaign very much and thanked Jorge Brindle, Sales Director Bad of the Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe, who had the caps with them and the police.

“Always put your hats with the high visibility reflective tape on when you’re out and about, and watch out for the traffic, so nothing happens to you and you’ll be safe and sound at school and back home,” OB Feser told the children.

A shining example for the children

Great was the joy when police chief commissioner Manfred attended the first graders of Heinz- School. It immediately struck the children that the police officer had come to school with a special safety vest.

Well visible, when it gets darker. He wore the safety vest of the police, which makes its wearer well visible from afar for other road users through its bright signal colors and the reflective tapes – especially important in the dark season. The enthusiasm of the students was huge when Manfred announced that he.

In the second week of school, the first graders of the elementary school were visited by the two policewomen Karin and Verona. Both told the children about the dangerous situations in traffic.

They also made it clear to children how important it is to wear suitable safety equipment. Each student received a reflective safety vest and reflective wristband which is made of reflective materials. In the parking lot in front of the elementary school, the children then practiced the correct behavior on and in the school-builder, guided by the two traffic experts.

They know a safe way to school

Seven children were awarded in a competition organized by the police. One of the prizes was a visit to the headquarters.

Children from 6 to 8 years old were tasked with calling a press officer, entering a competition slogan, and then answering a few questions about getting around the roads. Barros, Sebastian, Nadia, Oskar, Lena, Martina and Veronica were awarded in the competition.

The children also received board game “Safe town”, reflective vests and reflective tapes, educational lesson plans and pens with emergency numbers.

First graders received safety vests

“School in sight. Kids in view”, This is the motto of this year’s security campaign for first graders of the ADAC Foundation, in which more than 36,000 from West Germany 760,000 safety vests are distributed to first graders in Saxony.

As a prelude, Saxony’s Minister of Education Christian visited the 95th elementary school “Caroline” in Dresden today. Together with representatives of the action partners, he presented the West to 104 ABC shooters. Minister of Education Christian thanks the ADAC Foundation and the Deutsche Post DHL Group for this important event: “The best protection for our new school students is to be seen. The girls and boys with vest are visible at dusk up to 150 meters for motorists. That’s five times as far as dark-clad children. “says Pixar. The Minister also pointed out that traffic education was firmly anchored in the elementary school curriculum. Thus, in the first to fourth grade in the subject, the most important traffic rules and traffic-oriented behavior are taught.

Wearing a safety vest gives children and parents additional security when, in the fall, many first-year students master the way to school for the first time in the dark. Elementary school students often cannot properly assess the danger on the roads and because of their height, they often lack an overview. In addition, the directional hearing is not yet pronounced and the field of view is limited. So the children cannot always recognize approaching road users “out of the corner of their eyes”.

The signal effect of the safety vest of the ADAC Foundation makes children visible from afar for all other road users. An effect that protects you not only on the way to school but also during your free time. Helmut, board member for traffic and technology of the ADAC Saxony, sees the parents primarily responsible. “The safety vest with reflective tapes only serves its purpose when worn. That should just be a matter of course. ”

The entire logistics – shipping, customs clearance, packaging and shipping – from 30,000 parcels to 16,000 elementary schools will be provided free of charge by Deutsche Post DHL as a contribution to cooperation. “We are proud to be involved in this important task. With our expertise as a logistics provider, we ensure that the safety vests with reflective materials arrive wherever they are needed: directly in elementary schools, directly with the girls and boys who, as first graders, often make their first independent steps as road users, “says Ina, Head of the Department of Transport at the Deutsche Post Dresden branch.
