118 people are participate Family Cycling Rally

Behind us IV Family Cycle Rally “The path along the narrow track”. On Sunday, May 21st, the families of the Cultural Center came together to embark on a 20-kilometer trip to Stagy. Bike enthusiasts in reflective vest did not scare off even a cloudy morning. The rally was attended by 118 people

Participation in the rally was free. And although the records lasted until May 18, additional guests on the day of the event were also missing.

“This is my third rally. I enjoy recreational sport. We always try our best to participate in such initiatives. Moving is healthy. It affects the body very well, so I try to ride at least once a week. I also practice nodding walking – explains Jadwiga, participant of the rally.

– First time we take part and immediately see that there is a cool atmosphere. We learned from a friend about this event and decided to join because we like to go cycling, “says Barbara.

“I run more than I ride, but I decided to try the first time to participate in the rally, because I like the excursion and fun,” adds Tomasz.

In total, 118 people participated in the IV Family Cycle Rally “The Path along the Narrow Track”. The youngest participant was Alexander Potosi, who in August would finish three years. The oldest cyclist, Jan Dura, is 70 years old.

– We took care of the participants. We also prepared reflective elements for them. Thanks to the sponsors, they gave us armbands and vests. Safety first of all – explains the organizer of the rally “.

Participants had to take about a 20 km route, one way. Those who did not have the strength to back up their bikes could take advantage of the additional attractions – Narrow-Gauge Ride.

– Riding a bike is a trendy one for several years now. It seems that there are more and more fans of this sport. As a municipality we try not only to organize such events, but also to improve our bicycle infrastructure. By repairing the streets we make sure there are cycling paths there. A few years ago we also built a Cycling Town.

As the mayor says, cycling is the first safe form of movement; secondly the way to a healthy life, and thirdly the fashion for cycling tourism is constantly growing, so it is worth investing in. After the races, the first comments appear. Participants in safety vest are very happy and on a bike adventure, they are getting ready again for a year.

Worth wearing reflective elements in darkness

“Reflecting fashion is security and comfort,” Marek Konkolewski, head of police at TVN24, argued. How to use reflective vest to function properly? A small experiment was conducted.

Fluorescent elements should be remembered especially in autumn and winter when visibility on the road is limited. All the more so because the reflections are not only necessary for safety but also aesthetic, as proved by the action of the A2 motorway in Wielkopolska, which is safe, reflecting on the glamor of the fashion world.

In order to see how glare works, the lights went out in the TVN24 studio, and the speaker and the expert part of the conversation were illuminated only by fluorescent elements.

As Marek Konkolewski recalled from the Police Headquarters, there is a provision in Polish law that says that every child under the age of 15 who moves in the dusk outside the built-up area is obliged to wear reflective elements in a visible way for others. Konkolewski emphasized that it encourages everyone to wear reflectives, but especially to care for older people, and those who do not use walkways and pedestrian crossings or are forced to use busy roads outside built-up areas.

How to use reflectors to be better visible on the road? “According to the law, when we move on the road, we have to go face to the oncoming vehicle, that is to the left of the road,” Konkolewski explained. This way the pedestrian sees the oncoming car, and the driver will be able to see the pedestrian with a reflective element, “he added. Konkolewski also explained that if only one fluorescent element is available, it is best to wear it around the neck. If we have a reflective band, we should put it on the right leg.

Drivers must be vigilant

Konkolewski emphasized how much depends on the drivers themselves. “Drivers must have properly set lights,” he explained, adding that this is particularly important in the autumn and winter. – Dirty glass headlamps can absorb almost 40 percent. Lights, “he warned. Also remember to replace burned-out light bulbs and set the lights after replacing them.

Reflective motorbike clothes – a must or a fan

Autumn is coming soon and the weather will not allow such frequent and long trips on a paddle as we would like. Riding in the dark and in the dark will become a daily necessity. It was good then to be visible and to see others. The reason for the use of reflective product does not have to explain – it was supposed to start this article, but it will not start, even if translation is necessary, especially among motorcyclists.

Start with some statistics. Although often it is mixed feelings, it is deadly in this respect – the danger of lack of visibility is enormous and if a well-rounded reflex causes its holder to be visible on the road at a distance of up to 150 m, its absence causes it to be visible only from a distance of 30 m! The research into the causes of motorcyclist accidents clearly indicates that people wearing reflective devices are 37% less likely to be hit than people who do not wear any reflective material. Already a helmet in white, light or painted with reflective paint reduces the risk of injury from 19 to 24%.

Autumn is coming soon and the weather will not allow such frequent and long trips on a paddle as we would like. Riding in the dark and in the dark will become a daily necessity. It was good then to be visible and to see others. The stories quoted below have taken place during the last season, but can be dated for each autumn or early spring evening. Road from school to home. It is already quite gray, and with the background of the unlit side I am two pedestrians and one cyclist. Their jackets glow in the dark with reflective elements. “Oh, look! At last people have thought about safety and are wearing reflective! Well, unless its motorcyclists … “Of course my statement works out a hundred percent. If someone “shines”, means – motorcyclist. In practice, a 120 m motorcyclist, visible and invisible, may be the only difference between a living and a dead motorcyclist…

There are many criteria that motorcycle clothing must fulfill – you must generally enjoy and protect well. And how is it with visibility? How much do we pay attention to the reflective elements? After all, they also raise our security. David L. Hough, a motorbike authority for multiple wheelers, has already mentioned in his book, “The Perfect Motorcyclist,” about how important it is to wear reflective by motorcyclists. They play a very important role for beginner’s motorcyclists, but now, especially in Poland, where aura does not spoil us, regardless of placement, it is worth investing in your own safety.

Although reflective clothing is on the market, it is most commonly associated with a green or orange vest – banned by a large circle of motorcyclists. Diminishing while driving made of material that does not allow air. Hated, but until recently treated as the only option improving our visibility, especially on long routes. It was difficult to refuse her raison d’être. Increasingly, however, professional motorcycle clothing is equipped with reflective elements. We do not have to think about a vest at this time, especially since the location of these reflectors is thought out so that the clothing looks aesthetically and does not scare large parts of the light reflective material while fulfilling the function of reflecting light.

Smart clothes with reflective material

Sales of technology products incorporated into clothing, called ‘wearable’s, will reach 135 million Euros in 2018 in the world, according to augur international experts who will meet in Barcelona next week.

At the meeting, promoted by the Technological Center of Catalonia Eureka, it is planned to analyze the opportunities of this type of technology.

Experts estimate that the opportunities offered by smart and functional clothing and reflective fabrics will drive sales to increase from € 9.7m in 2013 worldwide to only € 5.2m in 2013 – to € 135m in 2018.

The Eureka Center has developed or participated, among other projects, in the creation of prototypes of a heated cycling jersey, a body to prevent lumbar injuries or a shirt that measures vital signs and perspiration.

He has also developed clothes that control people’s emotional reactions, a shoe template with sensors that prevents falls, gloves with solar heaters and a bag that lights with solar energy.

According to a Eureka spokeswoman, Effect explained that this technology center in Catalonia is a pioneer in the world of electroluminescent technology, which allows lighting and flexible objects without the need to focus with light as it does with current reflective elements. Smart textiles, with a demand that reaches 75% in the case of young people who say they want to use technology incorporated into clothing, “offer significant opportunities thanks to the development in the miniaturization of electronic components,” explained the researcher in design Textile Oscar Temuco, coordinator of the meeting.

According to Temuco, “functional fabrics can already be seen, architects and agro textiles, but also in professional clothing or sports applications and in the field of health.” In order for this future to become a reality, according to Temuco, “a great transformation is necessary involving agents from multiple disciplines and levels”, where “innovation must be part of both the production process and the design process or Business models “.

The event, organized by the Dutch embassy in collaboration with ADI-FAD, Eindhoven University of Technology and Eureka, will be attended by experts from the textile world, fashion design or textile and experts in ‘wearable’s or technology applied to the textile sector. The director of the Research and Textile Center of Carnet de Mar (Barcelona), Miguel Solar, plans to present functional fabric capacities, and Eureka Business Director Miguel Rey will share the initiative Reimaging Textile, the collaboration network That connects the main agents to place Catalonia as a reference in this new textile revolution.

According to the experts, “it is a textile revolution, driven by new reflective materials, production processes and channels, proliferation of data, devices and sensors and hyper connectivity.”

Resilient armor with reflective element for participants

The light of the world saw another garment with the proud name of the Spartan warriors. This time he has the task of protecting his legs. Specifically, calves and shins. The Calf Guards in safety vest have the same features as handhelds that have been tested before, but you are not mistaken. But maybe you just love them all. Welcome to a world where there is no need for water, mud brooks, stones, ropes, but also barbed wire!

Simple hoods provide basic shaving and calf protection. They are ready for both dry and water, and some twig or stone would not hurt them. And you do not. Sleeve design is carried out in a traditional combination of black, gray and deep yellow color. Retro elements blend with industrial abstract patterns of triangles and hexagons. Technically, this is a tubular sleeve with one longitudinal seam carried out in flat stitching and tape under the foot. It is also lined with flat seams, but the upper end of the fabric is already processed by welding / gluing. So unpleasant pushing and rubbing under the knees should not occur.

For a long time, I wondered if the tape, which is designed to prevent the sleeve upward, should be worn on the sock or under the sock. I tried both variants. From changing over my sock, I promised more foot comfort, from underwear under the sock, to more freedom and comfort for my ankles. In the end, I decided to put down the sleeves and then the socks. The fabric is so fine that it does not cause any problems on the barefoot.

Minor problems, unpleasant dirt, however, provided huge white signs, maintenance and compositional notes. They are stitched to the sleeves relatively tightly, with a tiny stitch and their removal requires a little more tailoring skill.

Especially when shooting terrain and other occasions when it comes to shin, you will definitely appreciate the strengthening structure stuck on the stitches in the front. The combination of triangles creates a lightweight and resilient armor for participants of some Spartan. In addition to the refined design, you will also appreciate the reflective elements on both socks during training. On the one you will find the logo of the manufacturer, on the second sign of the race in the shape of a Spartan fighter. The word “Spartan” then leaves no doubt about where to put you.

The hangers hold well on their feet, their material does not hold water or sweat, but protects well against mud and other traps of mud races. It also works slightly compressively, so if you are a supporter of these permissive means of support, you will also not go away with unassigned. Weight analysts are not disappointed or weigh less than 46 grams.

What to say at the end? On mud races, I always went with my legs – whether in long elastics or at least in shorts combined with the sleeves reflective tape. I never regretted it. The cuffs can also be used in training under boundary temperature conditions. Before you warm up, you can protect the lower legs when it gets hot, you just put them on your ankles and keep moving. This legend is usually not quite possible.

Pedestrian protected by mandatory reflective elements

A serious traffic accident happened on Tuesday evening in the center. A passenger car smashed two young pedestrians without safety vest – a man and a woman – on Masaryk Square at the crossing. Both of them ended up with moderate injuries in the hospital.

The accident took place before the eighteenth hour in court. The rescuers immediately took the place. “The cause of the accident is being saved,” said police spokesman Jana. The thirty-nine-year-old driver sat behind the wheel of a passenger car. According to the first information, the woman was not fully involved in the proceedings. Tuesday’s accident was the first serious this year, when pedestrians were hit.

They become victims of accidents quite often, only last year, 131 pedestrians died in traffic accidents throughout the Czech Republic. To dramatically improve this tragic balance would be obliged to wear reflective elements in the dark outside the village, which the politicians have approved.

“A man in dark clothing can see about 18 meters in visible conditions, if he has reflective elements on himself, the driver can see it up to two hundred meters,” says North Bohemian transport expert Jan.

But for a man in dark clothes, he is almost certain that if he gets into the carriageway, the clash is practically inevitable. For example, a 60-seater car travels for only one second of less than seventeen meters, practically the entire distance to which the driver had the chance to see a pedestrian in dark clothing.

“The driver’s response time is approximately one second. So, when it reaches the pedestrian, it collides, “explains Jan, why people should wear reflective elements.

In his opinion, however, they should not only wear them outside the village, as they are re-enacting regulations. Even in cities there are many places that are poorly illuminated, but that does not apply. Such a place can be, for example, the road near the middle school of agriculture.

Traffic policemen are also preparing to control the new duty.

“But first, we will focus on preventive action to get the information as close as possible among people,” says regional transport police.

In the last week of February, it will be possible to meet traffic police at a number of busy places where they will be able to give away reflective elements such as ribbons or vests in cooperation with BESIP.

The new law states: “If a pedestrian is traveling outside the village in a low visibility on the roadside or on the edge of a road in a place not illuminated by public lighting, he is obliged to wear reflective material placed in such a way as to be visible to other road users Roads.” People can do something else: If they do not have reflective elements, they can get in the dark in the dark with a flashlight or a lighted mobile. That can save their lives at night.

Wear Reflective vests outside the village

The Senate unanimously approved an amendment that, among other things, will allow municipalities to restrict the operation. The norm also mandates pedestrians to wear reflective elements outside the village and allows the police to withhold a small technical license in the event of a poor technical condition of the vehicle.

The Senate decided on Wednesday despite the efforts of some senators, who wanted to take police officers the right to measure the speed of the ride or to allow cyclists to ride even after drinking less alcohol.

The novel, which also obliges motorists to clean vehicles from ice and also from snow if they prevent them from being out of sight, now, gets the president to sign.

The norm should also allow for a half-year license to be issued to those who would cross the railway crossing at the time of signaling the arrival of the train. The fine for such a crime has not yet increased, as demanded by greens, according to CSSD senator Petro Galas, but in the future it is considering increasing from five thousand Czech crowns to five times.

The largest part of the three-hour debate took over the senators’ discussion of the abolition of the right of the police to measure the speed that was advocated by the chairman of the ODS senators and the mayor of Teplice. “The ministry of transport has a negative opinion on the proposal to drop the possibility of measuring the speed of municipal traffic by the police in reflective vest,” the minister of transport, Dan, told the senators. He justified this inter alia by not discussing this change with the authorities concerned and assessing its impact on both traffic safety and radar investment.

Kobe argued that many municipalities just want to improve their income, so speeds are measured outside the built-up area. He also pointed to the administration and the increase in unpaid fines for traffic offenses, which he said had climbed from 29 million to 43 million crowns in the past five years.

The chairman of the CSSD senators admitted that the city police would not be able to measure the speed of the trip, but it compensates for the insufficient capacity of the Republic Police to ensure a higher level of security in the municipalities. This was argued by Senator. “I speak to myself, because I am a city police sponsor, and I often give her a quick ride,” she admitted.

Senate Vice-President proposed to allow cyclists, according to the Austrian model, 0.8 per mile of alcohol in the blood if they were traveling on third-class roads or cycling paths, or alternatively 0.5 per mile. He also wanted to limit the maximum penalty for alcohol for cyclists to 500 crowns. He argued that policemen often choose fines on vineyard cycling trails.

To the duty of reflective elements for pedestrians, vests or only strips on the sleeve, the Minister of Transport stated that the violation would amount to a fine of two thousand dollars. Also said the ministry had a deal with the police to give people more of their reflective tapes. He also announced that his office is seeking an agreement with the Czech Association of Insurers to ensure the removal of non-mobile vehicles. He responded to the request of Senator Jake that the government should take action against overtaking offshoots.

Be well visible at night, avoid injury and fine

For pedestrians there is already a duty to be safely seen while walking along the road. Sometimes Just a few reflective elements that can save your life and help you avoid the fines.

See and mainly be seen. This is the motto of the amendment to the Act on Road Traffic, which has brought many changes since Saturday not only for drivers but also for pedestrians. From now on, they would not have gone out of the village under reduced visibility in a place that is not illuminated, coming out without a reflective element on clothing. Otherwise, two thousand shall be taken from the wallet, in the administrative proceedings up to two and a half.

A series of tests showed that the figure in dark clothing is visible to the driver of the arriving vehicle at only 18 meters, in white clothing already at 55 meters and with reflective markings already at 200 meters, which is enough distance for a safe escape maneuver.

The novel of the law is also welcomed by the young driver Katarina, who has met unimaginably “invisible” pedestrians. “I think the introduction of the reflective material is the right thing, I have seen myself several times that I was a pedestrian at the county road almost overlooked And I have something to do to prevent it from happening, certainly because of this duty to avoid accidents, and even the pedestrian is taken as a legitimate road user, so it should bear the consequences if it causes something, “he thinks.

See you?

Police officers have been targeting pedestrians since the autumn of 2015. Since then, more than 100,000 reflective tapes have been handed out to unmarked pedestrians. The Tabor policemen took part in the “We see” national prevention event, for example, on February 11, when they handed out bags with reflective stripe and reflective tapes to passers-by at the Kurland shopping center.

Even though the amendment to the law came into force already last Saturday, unmarking pedestrians still do not have to be scared yet. “It will be a misdemeanor but we will still explain to the pedestrians why we need to wear reflective tapes and if we have some of them, we will continue to give them away,” South Bohemian police spokesman Double.

However, all pedestrians also recommend that they take care of their safety and wear reflexive elements in cities where there is poor lighting, driving cars and cyclists. One simply has to light up and the other light reflects.

For pedestrians walking along the left side of the road, it is ideal to wear a reflective ribbon on the right hand or foot, which will be directed to the road and an anti-rushing car, will illuminate it. “It is necessary for the pedestrian really to go to the left, so that the passing driver does not shine in his back, but in the face. Cyclists should ideally have tapes on both ankles. The belt not only holds the trouser legs but also has the advantage of being seen from all sides, “explains Double.

You do not have to invest in the variety of reflexes if you already own some sportswear or neon-colored shoes.

The police are still distributing reflective tapes

Two-and-a-half thousand crowns can be expensive for the evening walkers on the road from Saturday. If they are not retrofitted outside the village, they risk a fine. The amendment to the law seeks to reduce the number of people with cars.

In the first weeks of the amendment to the Road Traffic Act, the police will focus on prevention rather than on pedestrians. “We are planning dozens of events in the region where we want to inform pedestrians about new duties and to give them objects in reflective design,” police Panel said.

The first reflective tapes, bags and vests were handed out by policemen in Brno on Thursday. They stopped and informed about thirty people. “Few of them knew about the change in law,” said Swab, and recommended to wear well-visible clothing accessories not only outside the village, but also within them.

Also in schools

The police action was also awarded by Dagmar, who took off the reflective tape. “When a man is in black on gray asphalt, he can hardly see him tonight,” she said.

Information about the novel does not extend to South Moravia only by police officers, but also by schools. For example, in elementary school in Brno, teachers are explaining new responsibilities to pupils these days. “Many parents did not register the law at all,” said director Jana. She added that they had made good visible elements for school events to borrow to the pupils.

The amendment to the law requires pedestrians to use reflective elements when walking along the roadside or on the outskirts of the road outside the village. According to the visibility of the reflective material is two hundred meters at night, while a blue-haired man is seen at about a tenth of a distance. At ninety kilometers an hour, the car’s braking distance is about forty meters. “We therefore welcome the obligation to wear reflective elements,” said regional coordinator Basil.

The amendment to the Act, however, is uncontroversial. When a pedestrian without a reflective element collides with a car, it is the driver who bears the blame because it does not adapt the speed to the road conditions. A poorly visible person in a conflict risks only a fine in terms of law. “In practice, it means that I can never drive ninety after the district roads at night, because I have to count on the fact that someone is not illuminated,” Mike said.

Stronger neighbors

An even stricter law has been in force in Slovakia since 2014. Pedestrians must wear reflective elements on the road regardless of whether they are moving in or out of the village. “At first, people complained, but now they have no problem,” said Mike.

The efforts to improve the safety of pedestrians have been felt by some traders for the revenue. “Reflective elements are sold about twice as much as before,” said Yvette, a salesman at Brno’s Workwear Store.

Last year, the police in the South Moravian region recorded four hundred and thirteen drops of cars with a pedestrian. “Of these, two hundred and twenty-two happened in Brno,” Swab said. Over forty percents of pedestrian collisions took place at pedestrian crossings. Fall of cars with pedestrians is increasing every year.

Reflective bands for running or riding a bike at night

When cycling or running at night, take care of your own safety. Visibility on the road will provide clothing with reflectors or special stickers, reflective tape or wrist bands to reflect light. The duty of lighting the bicycle is based on the rules of the Road Code.

Belts, tapes, reflective stickers or vests can be purchased in hypermarkets, bicycles, motorized and sports stores, on the Internet or even at gas stations. Single glare is about 2-6 gold. A reflective vest costs about 10 zlotys.

Running in the dark – clothing, tapes, reflective bands

Less crowded on the streets or lack of time to train during the day – these are some of the reasons for running at night. Deciding on the activity after dark, you should take care of their safety. Ensure visibility on the road glare. Useful accessories for runners include. When buying sports clothing (trousers, jackets, shirts, sweatshirts), you should choose models that have already wearing reflective vest. Reflective stickers on the legs or arms make the racer will be visible to the driver of a car with a distance of 200 meters.

Running through the woods at night – torch run

Headlamp will be useful during night training on uneven and completely unlit area, in the forest. The lamp is mounted on the head; you do not need to keep it in the hands of the running time, the light falls directly in front of the runner. It is good to stock up on spare batteries. It makes most sense to go for training in a group, and if it is impossible to run only along the paths, which learned during the day. It is also worth mentioning the family or roommates where to go and have GPS enabled on your phone. Fall over on the slippery mud or leaves may end up with an injury.

Lighting bicycle – rules

The most important piece of equipment is a bicycle at night lighting. Cyclist who uses the roads is obliged to follow the rules of the road. According to the Highway Code bicycle shall be provided with at least one front fog lamp (a white or yellow selective). On the back of the vehicle must have a positional lamp and reflective of a shape other than a triangle. Both rear lights bike should be in red color. To be more visible on the road at night, cyclist may additionally assume the head headlamp. Just remember that it cannot be mounted less than 25 centimeters and 1.5 meters higher than the road surface.

Is cyclist must have a vest?

In the light of the law on road traffic vest is not obligatory during weirs bike. However, should the cyclist clothing or helmet have reflective elements, for example. Reflective stickers can be additionally taped. The wheel or pedals a bicycle.

Riding a bicycle without lights – the mandate

Single-track ride without lights can result in a fine. For driving a bicycle at night or in tunnels without proper vehicle lighting a police officer can issue a fine of 100 zlotys.
