The new North wave summer collection with reflective material

The Italian firm North wave presented a few days ago its complete collection of clothes with reflective material for the spring-summer season of 2017, a collection whose common denominator remains, without any doubt, comfort, design and quality. Extreme2, Mind Field, Palm Beach and Logo 3 jerseys, Logo 3 and Blade 2 culottes, Flag Man and Blaze gloves and Vortex Jacket windbreakers, Vortex Vest vests and Extreme Tech stocks are the main stars of this collection.

The short sleeve jerseys Extreme2, Mind Field, Palm Beach, and Logo 3 of North wave share a good part of its main characteristics, among which its fabric covered with microscopic pores that guarantees an excellent perspiration. In addition, the super-breathable 3D mesh inserts on the sides achieve even greater ventilation. The lower part of their sleeves has great grip points that adapt like a second skin. It also has an elastic silicone band around the waist. A complete YKK zipper, three back pockets, and a full reflective band at the waist complete the details of these jerseys.

Both the Logo 3 calotte and the Blade 2 have K110 padding, specially conceived to face medium and long distance routes with excellent shock absorption and great breathability. They are made with a compression fabric that reduces muscle vibration thereby decreasing the feeling of fatigue and improving sports performance. The straps of these culottes are made in a mesh that guarantees greater breathability. On the other hand, the construction of the leg cuff combines a 4.5 cm microfiber band with a cut panel for a perfect fit.

They also have reflective details on the legs and the lower part of the back.

The Flag Man short gloves from North wave have a perforated microfiber palm for great breathability. Maximum comfort is achieved thanks to its latex foam padding on the palms. The flexible mesh on the back promotes increased airflow and quick drying. A Velcro adjusts the cuffs, the thumb has a microfiber area that will help us to clean the sweat, and the tabs of the fingers allow you to remove the glove easily.

Incorporate Road safety detail in your personalized equipment

As is well known, cyclists are a vulnerable group when they travel by road between cars and other vehicles. Despite the regulations to leave the minimum space of 1.5m to overtake, many are the drivers who commit infractions endangering the lives of those who ride on the bike.

For this reason, any element that helps to increase the visibility of them is helpful to add safety, although in the end this always ends up depending on the awareness of the drivers themselves. From Taylor we offer several options for road safety that have the sole purpose of contributing to saving the physical integrity of cyclists who leave by road to train. All of them are available in custom, so you can include them in the customization of your cycling gear.

First, we have the fluorescent colors, which multiply the cyclist’s visibility on the asphalt. The FLUOR ADDICTION collection is the living example. It is not the same to see “spot” yellow fluorescent than to see it black or some other neutral color. In the first case, the circulation of the cyclist becomes more evident, and, therefore, safety is gained. When it comes to customizing your jersey, you can include these colors in your designs, which also, as has been proven, also give an extra personality and style to the garment.

Another of the elements we use in our culottes are the reflective cuffs, available in both short and long versions (3 cm the first and 7 cm the second). They incorporate micro-points of reflective material on the surface that makes them shine when the light strikes directly, also increasing the cyclist’s visibility and making the garment useful, so that they can circulate when the sun is going out or even at night. These cuffs can be sublimated, so they can incorporate any design and / or color, also fluorine, of course, as we can see in the FLUOR ADDICTION collection.

Finally, we also have reflective living, which can be incorporated into any seam of our cycling jersey or jacket. It gathers the same properties as the fist, but in this case the surface is not covered with microdots of reflective material but it is in its entirety, shining slightly more than the fists.

Police find 556 people for not wearing a reflective vest

The regions with the most infractions were Tarapacá and Los Lagos. The penalties reach $ 23 thousand. From the Congress they request urgency to legislate on obligation of the use of this pledge. From the Region of Arica to Magellan, the norm that forces the wearing of the reflective vest in the safety kit of all motorized vehicles inspected, according to data given by Carabineers to the National Traffic Safety Commission.

More than eight million controls carried out Carabineers during 2016; of these, 556 people fined for not complying with the regulations, with the Tarapacá and Los Lagos regions leading the ranking of infractions (168 and 128, respectively). Fines taken range from $ 9,200 to $ 23,000.

It should remembered that the measure had a controversial debate; both in the authorities and in social networks, for the obligation to be yellow, made of fluorescent material and have bands of retro reflective material with a width of not less than 50 mm.

The deputy Leopold Perez noted, “Although the infractions are few compared to the total number of audits, it is noteworthy that a high percentage is concentrated in regions such as Tarapacá and Los Lagos. He talks about the need to spread awareness campaigns in all corners of Chile. ”

At that point, the parliamentarian urged the legal initiative to make the use of the reflective vest mandatory. “I requested a balance, because it is necessary that we know the impact that this measure has generated on people and I want to insist that it is not enough to keep it inside the car, the vest must be used.”

The president of the Commission of Transports of the House of Representatives, Mario Vinegars, indicated, “If the fines are few, it is because the immense majority fulfilled the spirit of the norm. Several of us suggested that the measure by a legal modification, to give it strength, but I think that although it is important to process it, I do not think it is urgent. ”

For the public affairs manager of Automobile Club of Chile, Alberto Escobar, the figures “coincide with studies we have done in the regions of Los Lagos and Tarapacá, which show that they are rather refractory to road safety regulations, not I know if because they are more relaxed. In general, the numbers seem good to me, considering an automotive park of more than four million cars. ”

Regarding the obligation to use the security garment, the expert indicated, “it is interesting, but it would take at least a year, and if we are going to dedicate that time to a project, I would push the idea of the automated infraction center, so that we have electronic control of the speed.

The considered detail when shopping for school bags

Expert Andreas Schulte explains what parents should look out for when purchasing the important companion through school hours. It is important to bring children. The bag is necessary and the reflective bag can keep children visible and safer on road.

Football, racing cars, dolphins, princess or horse: The selection of schoolbag motifs is enormous. For the children they are the decisive criterion. Parents should take seriously the wishes of their sons and daughters, but also pay attention to factors that are important for the safety and the back of the offspring when buying. Which are, explains specialist salesman Andreas Schulte?

Until the next I-Dote to be trained at the end of August, it still takes more than six months, but many of them have their school bags already under the Christmas tree or they get it for a birthday present. All models, which are in the business, simply try out, Andreas Schulte of leather goods Schulte advises against this. A glance at the size and body structure of the child is already sufficient for the expert to know that some of the models are directly eliminated. The reflective material of bags is necessary for children’s safe.

“Just because children are being kicked in earlier, they are correspondingly smaller.” Sure, that makes little sense to get the biggest sack out of the shelf. Andreas Schulte explains that the basic weight is between 800 and 1,300 grams. “But it’s not the easiest thing to do, because there are many criteria that matter.” “If the satchel jumps while walking, it does not sit,” explains the expert.

There is no question for Schulte that the child should be taken to the purchase of the skirts and that the companion should be tried “through the school days,” very important “even without a thick jacket with reflective tape. That’s why Andreas Schulte wants to see Schulte and he explains why: “The children should get a feeling for it.” What about the carrier system? How does the satchel sit in the back? Is a cavity formed?

3M invest 11 million Euros for new reflective technique

Reflective license plates and traffic signs, graphic films such as on the urban play mobile or diaper closures: products from the 3M Hilden factory are everywhere. With more than 900 employees, it is one of the largest employers in the city and the largest production location of the globally active US group in Europe.

From June 2018, Hilden will also be the largest test facility for the development of production facilities. 3M is investing eleven million Euros and is expanding the existing pilot plant to its largest and most flexible laboratory facility outside the USA. “The investment strengthens 3M in Germany and the Hilden location”, explains Dr. Jorgen Kline, Head of the Development Department Materials and Processes for Germany, Austria and Switzerland: “In Hilden, we can do almost everything we need.”

The investment strengthens 3M’s location in Germany and Hilden

A pilot plant for production facilities has been in Hilden for 13 years. “It is very powerful”, Kline counts on its advantages: “The employees are very experienced. For this, we can use the Hilden facility. And last but not least, the immediate proximity to Neuss was the decisive factor. “There is the headquarters of 3M Deutschland GmbH and the research laboratories. For the extension of the technical center in Hilden does not have to be built again. The space required is available, reports the head of the development department. 3M holds over 25,000 patents and produces 50,000 reflective material products. About one third of sales are made with products that are on the market for less than five years.

What Lindens is inventing and developing 40 employees in Neuss’s labs is tested on a small scale by six employees at the Technique Hilden. Solvent-free processes and products are a major topic in the material industry, explained Kline – because they are simply sustainable. Another trend is sticking. Among other things, 3M develops novel adhesive tapes and films for lightweight construction, explains Kline. They help to save resources and weight in the automotive and aerospace industries. 3M has started up a new production line for so-called dual-lock fastening systems in Hilden a few months ago and has invested five million Euros. These double-sided, very durable and detachable high-performance adhesive reflective tapes are used, among other things, in door seals or to connect the interior trim of a car to the body, explain Stephan Rain, the press officer.

The production, which has so far been based in the USA, is now moving closer to key customers in the region.

The reflective fabric trends for summer 2017

The new reflective fabric trends for the spring-summer season 2017, which have just been shown at the Performance Days in Munich, are likely to inspire sports and fashion brands alike: there has never been such a great deal of fashionable optics for sport. The materials of the future are becoming lighter, more flexible and softer. They promise to wear comfort, which is long since also interested the classic fashion customers. “37.4 percent of the visitors agree to the fashion sector,” says Stefanie Sakharov of the Performance Days, summarizing the visitor structure of the last event at the end of April. This is a considerable share for a trade fair, which has explicitly devoted itself to the functional substances. And what trends does the industry see?

More patterns, more structure, more prints

“The functional substances show a completely different picture compared to the last seasons,” explains Fabrics expert Ulrike in her trend presentation. “Patterns, structures, prints and 3-dimensional fabrics are getting stronger and stronger.” The change goes through the entire range, from the light knit for Base layer to the weatherproof 3-layer reflective material for jackets and trousers. Structured surfaces are achieved by new knitting and weaving methods or appear on the backs of the fabrics where they are e.g. as small 3-dimensional triangles or ovals. They give the fabric not only a futuristic look; they also serve as a spacer to the skin and thus ensure more wear comfort. Jacquards also give the fabrics new structures and patterns, as well as quilted or embossed materials, where several layers of fabric – for example by ultrasound – are fused together.

Prints had hardly played a role in the sport in the last few years, but the Cleary look was one of them. This could change, at least the fabric manufacturers will in the future rely on decorative surfaces and present flower prints, basics and geometric patterns.

In general, the trend towards particularly complex backs continues. For example, transparent jacketed fabrics are printed on the reverse side, the patterns also glimmering on the front side. Innovative reflective prints are also presented. They not only serve the safety aspect, but also deliver completely new optics through newly developed colors. Highlight is, for example, a fabric that combines prints that only partially reflect and show a completely different pattern at night than at day.

Just not clean: The performance fabric trends for summer 2017

Functionality becomes the USP

With the functions of the fabrics, the trend continues towards lighter, softer, and nevertheless hard-wearing materials. Even 3-layer materials for waterproof jackets have lost their stiffness and show a pleasantly soft feel. Elasticity is becoming the standard. Even substances, which were once developed as compressive substances, enter the regular sports and fashion collections due to their good wearing and jumping properties. Christian Weather from Agencies: “We are selling our polyamide stretch from the sports collection to pure fashion customers. They are always looking for beautiful materials for comfortable reflective pants and jackets. ”

With the focus on the materiality of the fabrics, the colors move into the background. After years of bright colors, more and more natural tones return to the sport.

The European Union regulates kitchen gloves

At present, there are no standards to guarantee that glove by reflective material will actually protect us from heat. The European Commission is planning, changing and wanting to introduce specific standards. However, this idea raises quite a lot of controversy.

About the first issue, the RMF FM radio reported. The Commission has decided to address this issue because there are around 100,000 in the European Union each year. Hand burns. This is because gloves more often perform decorative functions than protective ones.

In the EU since 1989 a directive on PPE has been in force. It includes safety helmets, ear muffs, safety shoes, life jackets, bicycle helmets, sunglasses and reflective vests. But these are all things used in professional work.

Now the European Commission has decided to add to this list … kitchen gloves. According to the planned records, each such glove will have to meet a number of stringent safety standards. The Commission ensures that despite the increased cost of production, gloves should not be much more expensive due to the mass of this product.

The UK has protested against this. “The Commission was supposed to limit the over-regulation of citizens’ lives rather than create new, unnecessary norms,” argued the British MEP. Most countries, including Poland, have no problem with the new regulations about the safety gloves.

UTK: ABC Railway Campaign

In the latest issue of the Railway Market, we talk to the new CEO – Robert in safety vest ask what the Central Airport will look like and what will have consequences for the development of the railway. We look at how ERTM / ETCS is implemented (or is not going) in Poland and what to do to speed up. Once again we are pondering the future of the High Speed Railways in our country. This is the theme of the August issue. We also describe the dusk of the operation of the unmodified EN57 and wonder what will be the future of this series of cult trains.

A lot of July issue of the monthly “Railway Market” magazine is devoted to ticket issues and transport organization. We present problems in the implementation of a joint ticket in Poland and show model Swiss solutions to this issue. In the section “Infrastructure” we write about the planned return to the capital of the Warsaw station. We also talk with Staler Polka board member about the jubilee of the company and we present prospects for the entry of Polish trains to other Polish trains. In the extensive reflective material “More Darts we will not be. What went wrong?” We present the history of the most turbulent delivery of rolling stock in Poland. We also describe doubts about the modernization of the E20 Warszawa-Poznan bus.

In our current issue, our report is devoted to the question of whether rail has a chance to keep up with the fast-growing cities. Also in this edition you can find talks with the Presidents of Regional Transport, Rail Transport Authority, Pisa Bydgoszcz and Ukrainian Railways. We summarize the year of the new board of PKP PLK and in the passenger section we explain why Lower Silesia and not Amazonia is becoming the most “railway” region in Poland. Our columnists peek at rail transport in the UK.

In this issue we devote a lot of space to train matters and more. In the report we collected materials related to environmental protection, including about the increasingly common railroad acoustic screen construction and often outraged residents of the trees along the railway lines. We also summarize the difficult year of listed companies and report on the start of the urban railway in Wroclaw, everyone need to be care more about the road safety. We also analyze how “central” objects dominate the infrastructure and what effects the “pass” regulation has brought.

Reflective motorbike clothes – a must or a fan

Autumn is coming soon and the weather will not allow such frequent and long trips on a paddle as we would like. Riding in the dark and in the dark will become a daily necessity. It was good then to be visible and to see others. The reason for the use of reflective product does not have to explain – it was supposed to start this article, but it will not start, even if translation is necessary, especially among motorcyclists.

Start with some statistics. Although often it is mixed feelings, it is deadly in this respect – the danger of lack of visibility is enormous and if a well-rounded reflex causes its holder to be visible on the road at a distance of up to 150 m, its absence causes it to be visible only from a distance of 30 m! The research into the causes of motorcyclist accidents clearly indicates that people wearing reflective devices are 37% less likely to be hit than people who do not wear any reflective material. Already a helmet in white, light or painted with reflective paint reduces the risk of injury from 19 to 24%.

Autumn is coming soon and the weather will not allow such frequent and long trips on a paddle as we would like. Riding in the dark and in the dark will become a daily necessity. It was good then to be visible and to see others. The stories quoted below have taken place during the last season, but can be dated for each autumn or early spring evening. Road from school to home. It is already quite gray, and with the background of the unlit side I am two pedestrians and one cyclist. Their jackets glow in the dark with reflective elements. “Oh, look! At last people have thought about safety and are wearing reflective! Well, unless its motorcyclists … “Of course my statement works out a hundred percent. If someone “shines”, means – motorcyclist. In practice, a 120 m motorcyclist, visible and invisible, may be the only difference between a living and a dead motorcyclist…

There are many criteria that motorcycle clothing must fulfill – you must generally enjoy and protect well. And how is it with visibility? How much do we pay attention to the reflective elements? After all, they also raise our security. David L. Hough, a motorbike authority for multiple wheelers, has already mentioned in his book, “The Perfect Motorcyclist,” about how important it is to wear reflective by motorcyclists. They play a very important role for beginner’s motorcyclists, but now, especially in Poland, where aura does not spoil us, regardless of placement, it is worth investing in your own safety.

Although reflective clothing is on the market, it is most commonly associated with a green or orange vest – banned by a large circle of motorcyclists. Diminishing while driving made of material that does not allow air. Hated, but until recently treated as the only option improving our visibility, especially on long routes. It was difficult to refuse her raison d’être. Increasingly, however, professional motorcycle clothing is equipped with reflective elements. We do not have to think about a vest at this time, especially since the location of these reflectors is thought out so that the clothing looks aesthetically and does not scare large parts of the light reflective material while fulfilling the function of reflecting light.
