Lions Club equips kindergartens with safety vests

With brand-new reflective vests, the Lions Club is equipping several kindergartens in these days.

With brand-new warning vests, the Lions Club is equipping several kindergartens in these days to increase the safety of the girls and boys cared for here on the road. A total of 170 safety vests at six kindergartens will be handed out.

On the morning of 9th October, the children of the kindergarten gladly accepted the new safety vests with reflective tapes, which they immediately tried out. With 60 pieces this device is considered. The handover was carried out by the president of the Lions Club, Johannes, and the club member Sebastian.

The action took place for the second time after the Lions Club sponsored the first time safety vests with reflective materials in kindergartens in 2014.

Training of the first and fifth graders

On Saturday, 15.09.2018, this year’s schooling for the first graders traditionally started with a service at 9 o’clock in the Catholic Church. The first graders were blessed with good wishes for their school start. Then the welcome program took place. All classes of the elementary school made their contribution to it. As a first program, the fourth graders under the direction of Mrs. Rausch sang a welcome song, which was composed by Mrs. Rausch herself.

The welcome song included motivating and encouraging passages to help the first year students get off to an exciting start in school. With her empathic address, the headmistress of the School, Ulrike Speck, welcomed the first graders, their parents, and guests. She pleaded for a trusting cooperation between parenting and the school. She gave the first-graders the road to do something wonderful now – they are schoolchildren.

As a result, the second graders with the “Lola-Rap” showed that reading with Lola is a really great thing. Lola accompanies the children in their first year of school reading, writing and learning letters. With the story of the lion Leo, who got stomachache on the excitement on his first day of school, Mrs. Speck tried to give courage to the first years, because each one of them was something very special and could do something very well. Together with Ms. Gartner and Mr. Sober, the schoolchildren could now sing a song together that they already knew from the kindergarten cooperation. The third graders filled the stage with best wishes for the new school students. Mrs. Speck rounded off the training with some important recommendations that also provide support and trust to parents in this new phase in which they are allowed to accompany their children on their educational journey. Ms. Speck ended her speech with these words: “School in itself is something wonderful if you look closely at it”. She also thanked her colleagues who provided the organization and the program. Last but not least, parents and guests exchanged their coffee and cake, clarified open questions and let this special day of their children come to an end. The entertainment was provided by the parents of the second graders.

Safety vests for our school beginners

Just in time for the beginning of the dark season, the 48 school-freshmen received bright yellow vests which made of reflective materials for their safe way to school again this year.

The foundation “Yellow Angel” of the ADAC and the “Deutsche Post AG” want to achieve through this action that especially the youngest road users on the way to school and in the free time with the bright and reflective vest are better seen and safer on the road are.

In order for the children to wear their vests, they are particularly suitable for children, from a cool hood to large images of the ADAC traffic detectives “Felix and Frieda”, who are always on the side of the young road users during the campaign. Full of joy the first graders tried the new vests with reflective fabric right away. The school expresses its sincere thanks on behalf of all children.

Hurray, the fifth years are finally here!

On Wednesday, the 12th of September, it was time. The big day was finally here and the enrollment of the fifth graders at the school took place.

The sixth grades, under the guidance of their first and second learning facilitators, set up a colorful program and warmly welcomed the new students in different languages, with a poem and two songs.

Mr. Sachiko spoke with his speech from the heart – a new and exciting period of life began for many expectant and curious fifth graders and their parents. Many unanswered questions buzzed around the room… Who will be my new learning companion? Can I find friends quickly? What does my classroom look like and who will I sit next to? Is there a climbing frame in the schoolyard and what are the breaks at my new school?

While the fifth graders were able to get to know their learning companions, their new classmates and their classroom, the parents of the sixth graders invited for coffee and cake and one or the other conversation in the auditorium. Some of the open questions could already be answered right there and everyone was already looking forward to the next day to get to know the new classmates, the learning companions and also the new school better.

Infrastructure Provincial Steinkellner hands over safety vests to the state

“A large proportion of pedestrian accidents occur during the winter months in the dark, although fewer people are traveling on foot at night.” With reflective vests and shopping bags, the Upper Austrian road users get a simple, but the extremely effective solution to make themselves more visible in the dark. “, said Landrat Infrastructure Mag. Günter Steinkellner.

In autumn, the angle of incidence of the sun’s rays becomes flattered and thus the days shorter. Would you like to do something in the evening, like go for a walk, Nordic walking or friends in the inn around the corner, so it’s said that they were in the dark the ups and downs. Black is in sport and winter clothing after whom the fashion color Number 1 what repaired in the dark season severely limits the visibility of the road users. The traffic police will pick up on visibility in the course of their work. 2,000 pieces of the reflected ‘pocket vests’ were promised to the police by Provincial Councilor Günter Steinkellner. Be regular traffic controllers became those pedestrians, who are in a position to make a difference. “The policy as friend and helper supports road safety on Upper Austria’s streets with this action. As the role model for children and adolescents to go forward, the use of highly visible reflective materials of clothing is very important,” appeals Steinkellner.

“Especially in the dark season is the motto – Get out of the camouflage mode and visibly safer on the road with reflective vests which made of the reflective fabric,” LR Steinkellner concludes.

Safety vest and fall harness in one

Visible and safe, that’s the new safety vest with integrated H-design fall harness by Miller.

Wearing clothing, backpacks or materials over a hi-vis safety vest is not permitted in many situations, according to Miller in a press release. But in practice, according to the manufacturer, there are many examples where a fall harness is worn over a safety vest with reflective material. However, it impedes visibility, which is why the company brought a vest with integrated harness onto the market.

Comfort and freedom of movement

The safety vest, offers comfort and freedom of movement and is very suitable for people in the construction industry. The lining of the vest can be opened through a large zipper on the inside so that the harness can be fully integrated into the vest. Through the openings in the front and back, the coupling points of the harness can be used with external fall lines and fall blocks. The vest is adjustable and can be worn over both winter and summer clothing. There are no less than five pockets in the vest, which is enough for tools and accessories. The safety vest with the reflective fabric is available in the colors yellow and orange.

Yellow Beanie action

Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe has a tradition of distributing the popular “yellow caps” to the first graders in the business district at the beginning of the school year.

In the past 30 years, there were about 85,000 pieces. The reflective material of the caps ensures that the children are perceived better in the darkening season on the road.

But the caps alone do not provide the necessary security and so learned the ABC shooters using the youth transport schools and the police doll stage Mainz, how to behave properly on his way to school.

Representing the Binger elementary schools this action took place today in the primary school, where since the beginning of the school year are going their new way of life. Headmaster Christophe and Lord Mayor Thomas Feser welcome this campaign very much and thanked Jorge Brindle, Sales Director Bad of the Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe, who had the caps with them and the police.

“Always put your hats with the high visibility reflective tape on when you’re out and about, and watch out for the traffic, so nothing happens to you and you’ll be safe and sound at school and back home,” OB Feser told the children.

They ensure that with aluminum foil the WIFI signal is increased

Are more and more electronic devices that you have connected to WIFI and your signal cannot cope? With this trick, you will not need to change plans.

In addition to the PC, the cell phones of all the members of the family, the game consoles, tablets and even the televisions are connected to the same WIFI network. For that reason, the signal is likely to be increasingly weak in your home. It is no longer enough to approach the router or disconnect the devices you are not using. The solution is simple and easy: it is aluminum foil.

“WIFI routers of a house use their antennas to send the signal in a general way to 360 degrees around them. If aluminum foil or some reflective material is placed near the antennas, the quality of the signal is addressed. “Clarion reported in its Technology segment.

In this way, you will improve the quality of the signal, there will be less interference and you will protect your connection, according to an investigation that was carried out at the University. “This improves the efficiency of the wireless infrastructure in buildings, by mitigating the impact of the insulation, partitions and interior designs of the building,” the engineers told the BBC.

It’s not just children who have the right to play on the road for holidays! Here is a game for the big ones, with some questions-trap…

1st question: in case of failure on the emergency stop band of a motorway is you obliged to signal your vehicle by a triangle?

Be aware that if you are required to operate the hazard warning flashers and wear a high visibility vest, before placing yourself behind the guardrail, you are not required to deploy your triangle if your vehicle is stopped. On the emergency stops strip and does not encroach on the roadway. Answer No, therefore.

2nd question: your car has 5 seats, should you have 5 reflective vests on board?

Once again… No! Only the driver is subject to this obligation under penalty of a fine of 11 Euros in case of no show and 135 € in case of non-use in the context of an emergency. A vest with reflective material that must be within reach of the driver. That being said. Common sense dictates that it may be better to have all occupants for their safety. It’s really not the most expensive item…

3rd question: is there a minimum speed of respect on the motorway?

Response to several “drawers”… When traffic is flowing and weather conditions permit, you should know that drivers driving on the left-most lane of the highway cannot drive at a speed below 80km / h. On the other tracks, no minimum speed but a simple principle, no driver should interfere with the progression of other vehicles to the extent that they respect the speed limits imposed on that place under penalty, in all cases, a fine of 35 €.

4th question: this concerns all those who, thinking to limit the risk of losing or being stolen their papers, prefer to travel with copies of their registration or driving license. Is it legal?

You should know that you have the obligation to submit, in case of control of the police, the original documents on pain of a fine of € 11 per missing document and a second fine of € 135 in case of no presentation in a police station or gendarmerie within five days. The only exception is for rental vehicles where the contract can act as a registration certificate.

The 5th and last question: I go on vacation with friends that I take in my vehicle… If one of them does not wear the belt, which is verbalized?

If this passenger is over 18, then it is he who will be verbalized and will have to pay the fine of 135 € (fine may be reduced to 90 €) without loss of points for the driver. On the other hand, if the offending passenger is under 18 years old and is badly or not at all attached, it is the driver in this case who will have to pay the fine of 135 € (which can be reduced to 90) but without loss of point.

These are some of the 10 questions that ACA has chosen. A questionnaire that you can find in its entirety in the press area of the National Automobile Club.

Children from the Kindergarten visited the police department

At the end of May this year in the morning, children from the village of Miskovice Kindergarten visited the local District Police of the Czech Republic.

Children and their teachers were welcomed by local police officers, who then accompanied them all along. They first showed the police department, and then showed them the equipment and armaments. At present, the handcuffs, a baton, a reflective vest with the inscription “POLICE” which is made of reflective heat transfer vinyl, and a bulletproof vest with reflective material were fascinated. The children were enthusiastic about the service motor vehicle.

During the meeting, the children learned how and how they knew the police and heard advice on how to safely behave in road traffic, focusing on the correct crossing of the road. At the conclusion of the meeting, the cops answered their inquiring questions.

A letter of thanks to the police:

“Hello,

I would like to thank, on behalf of ourselves and our children, for the demonstration of the work of the police and their equipment. On Friday, 25 May 2018, we went to the local District Police. Jelinek was willing to showcase our children a demonstration and then face a cannonade of inquisitive children’s questions. Everything was great, and the kids were thrilled and richer for the great experience. I believe this was not the last time and we are sending some photos.

Thank you once again for the children from the class “Viselike” kindergarten Miskovice teacher Dana and Lena. “

The 10 things that cars cannot miss

Ordinary maintenance or emergency management. Getting ready to help drive away stresses. Here are the accessories that you should keep close at hand. A couple, on the contrary, are mandatory…

The reflective jacket

Let’s start with what is obligatory (then we will see what is optional, but useful: the reflective jacket with reflective material.) As the Highway Code says, it must be worn by drivers of vehicles stationary on the roadway, out of the inhabited areas, at night or in conditions of poor visibility, when you set the triangle after a breakdown or to replace a tire or in other cases still. The obligation also applies to passengers, if they get out of the car. The driver who “forgets” to wear the jacket is liable to a fine ranging from 41 to 169 Euros and a 2-point cut on the driver’s license If, on the other hand, the passenger is caught, outside the car, without a jacket or a reflective vest, the penalty is only pecuniary. So it can be worn before leaving the car.

The triangle

In the safety kit required by law, in addition to the reflective jacket, there is the triangle. It must be exposed (at least 50 meters from the car), both during the day and at night, in case you stop on the roadway due to a breakdown. The absence or non-use of the triangle involves a fine from 36 to 148 Euros, in addition to the deduction of two points from the license.

Power cables

The low battery is one of the most common problems in a car, so the power cables become unavoidable, because they help to “resuscitate” the car and get back on the road.

The spare wheel in perfect condition

Whether the car is equipped with the “wheel” or a real spare wheel, it makes little difference: they must be in perfect condition.  the right pressure. Whole. Speech different – but up to a certain point – for cars equipped as standard, instead of the spare wheel, the repair kit, containing a compressor, the can of sealing liquid and everything needed to make a temporary repair. From time to time it is necessary to check the kit to check the efficiency of the components.

A first aid kit

You never know when a first aid kit might be needed, so keeping one in the car is always a smart move. Hoping, of course, never having to use it. They are easily found, from supermarkets to the same service stations, and can be more or less “rich”. It goes without saying that this kit must be kept under control: something can be scarce. Something can expire…

A tool kit

In case you need to make small repairs, have a basic tool kit – wrench, pliers, alien wrenches, screwdriver, pipe wrench and cable ties – will allow you to solve the situation quickly and easily.

A scraper

The scraper only serves in winter, it’s true: when you find the car covered with snow and ice. But it is good to always keep it in your car, because the alternative is to regret not having it in case of need. Woe is to use hot water or alcohol to defrost the glass: the thermal shock could have serious consequences…

A torch

Today all smart phones have an app for the flashlight, but certainly none of these can beat the efficiency and functions of a real flashlight. Which can serve on many occasions, even read maps and documents in the dark.

The fire extinguisher

It may seem exaggerated, but it is not. On the market there are facts for the car, small and easily scalable. The cause of a fire can be an accident or an electrical problem or the overheating of the catalytic converter. It is best to keep it handy, under the driver’s seat. If this is not possible, it can be kept in the trunk, but fixed for good, so that it is easily reachable when needed and does not fly on all sides when not needed.

Work gloves

From the replacement of a rubber to the assembly of the chains, to the control of the oil level (that forces to put the hands in the motor to reach the appropriate rod). There are many opportunities to protect yourself (not just from dirt). There are many types and prices for work gloves.
