POLICE ACTION

Traffic policemen across the country today conduct nationwide control and prevention activities called ‘Unprotected road users’. They are aimed at improving the safety of pedestrians and cyclists – a group of road users who are particularly vulnerable to the tragic consequences of these incidents during accidents.

Police officers will pay special attention to the behavior of drivers towards pedestrians, especially within marked pedestrian crossings, but also to closely monitor if pedestrians comply with traffic regulations.

Accidents involving unprotected road users are primarily caused by drivers of vehicles, however, the most fatalities among this group are recorded in the incidents they were perpetrators. Therefore, the Police appeals to pedestrians and cyclists to be careful on the road, because in the case of a collision situation with the vehicle their life and health are disproportionately more threatened than the driver of the vehicle. So it is best to carry any reflective material.

Let us remember! The driver of the vehicle, approaching the pedestrian crossing, is obliged to exercise extreme caution and give way to pedestrians on the aisle. However, all pedestrians should be aware that the fact of using the designated passage does not authorize them to enter the road without making sure that this will not cause any danger to traffic safety.

We would also like to remind you that in autumn and winter, pedestrians, for their own safety, should provide themselves with reflective tapes in advance and wear them in such a way that they are visible in the lights of vehicles.

Activities will also include cyclists who, like pedestrians, are included in the “unprotected” group. Therefore, drivers of bicycles should take care of their visibility on the road. The reflective vest, although not a mandatory equipment for the cyclist, makes the drivers see the biker beforehand. Cycling lights are equally important for the cyclist’s safety.

Yellow vests against Prezzie in the Puissance

The AMPA of the school San Juan DE Liberator calls a protest for the traffic changes in Cigarillo Amorous.

Reflective vests with reflective tapes and whistles are the “weapons” that will be used tomorrow from 9 o’clock by the parents of the more than 200 children of the school San Juan DE Liberator, in Cigarillo Amorous street, against the traffic change in the aforementioned road from the next Thursday. This is confirmed by sources of the AMPA, after criticizing the situation they suffer in the school.

«Since 2014, the opening year of the new facilities of the school bordering a public parking lot, both the Directorate of the San Juan DE Liberator CEIP and its AMPA denounce the situation of road insecurity in the access to the school and ask the City Council for targeted actions to ensure a safe school environment for its more than 200 students aged 3 to 12 years, “they said in a statement.

The Department of Mobility foresees next Thursday to change the direction of Cigarillo Amorous section included between the streets Pizarro and Afara, a decision linked to the construction of the bicycle lane that arrives from the Aventine Rein DE Valencia and will pass through the street Afara “The imminent reordering of the street provides for the placement of new loading and unloading areas and parking for motorcycles in front of the San Juan DE Liberator school. The actions do not contemplate the extension of the pedestrian space or improvements aimed at increasing the safety of more than 200 schoolchildren, “they criticize.

A visit to the entrance of the school at 9 in the morning is enough to verify that the size of the sidewalk is “insufficient for the number of people who accumulate mainly every morning, overflowing on the road and the entrance of the parking adjoining public ».

In the opinion of the AMPA, the situations of danger “compromise the safety of both children and companions, as people who walk this stretch of street and are forced to change their itinerary or down the road to find the sidewalks saturated. The lack of space is aggravated daily by the dozens of motorcycles that park on sidewalks, terraces and loading and unloading operations in the pedestrian space “.

For more than five years, affected families have been demanding improvements in public space in front of the school and control measures in the constant entry and exit of vehicles to the neighboring public parking lot, which also has access from Colin Street, before it has regret personal injuries.

The AMPA considers that the changes planned now in this stretch of Cigarillo Amorous are a “magnificent opportunity to free this area of so much pressure on vehicles and require the City Council to take into account their demands prioritizing the safety of children and their right to live in a dignified, friendly and healthy environment ».

They understand that the location of the school is not an excuse to “not promote the principles of sustainable mobility that the same Council is promoting in other neighborhoods through school road projects that promote child autonomy.”

Among the alternatives proposed by the parents is to expand pedestrian space by eliminating surface parking, improve visibility at crossings, support the bike lane that runs on Afara street with bicycle parking, raise traffic cuts on the street and in the parking adjoining school rush hour, etc.

The city guards instead handed out vests

About one hundred reflective vests have already hit the hands of Bialystok cyclists. The next Municipal Guard will be giving away on Thursday (17 May). Reflective tapes so that cyclists are clearly visible on the road. These are vests bought under the budget of the Bialystok City Guard.

Among the victims of accidents, a large group are pedestrians and cyclists, ie unprotected participants of the road traffic. Therefore, their safety should be taken care of especially. During a collision with another vehicle, the driver can count on airbags or seat belts. Pedestrians and cyclists do not have such protection. And the reflective vests will at least allow them to be seen from afar.

The city guards bought 300 reflective vests for this summer season. They have already distributed the first batch – about one hundred vests – to cyclists encountered on the bike paths of the city. On Thursday (17 May) they will also come out on the streets of Bialystok with vests. And certainly this will not be the last chance to get such a vest – says Anna Alaska from the Bialystok municipality.

And Vice-President Premyslid Suchlike adds: – You will be able to receive them during various types of actions directed to cyclists, organized by municipal guards. We have prepared different sizes, for children and adults. Let’s take care of our security together.

Reflective materials are a great way to ensure your visibility on the road. It is worth taking care of it, especially if someone often travels around the city by bicycle – not necessarily in the evening. Unfortunately, the reflections are still underestimated, although they save lives of road traffic participants.

THIS IS A PRETEKST TO REMINDER ABOUT CAREER ON THE ROAD

On the occasion of Grandma’s Day, policemen and city guards in Czechs distributed the reflective tapes to the seniors. The officers emphasize that this is an opportunity to make older people aware of how to safely navigate around the city.

– This Grandma’s Day and Grandfather’s Day tomorrow was a pretext to once again meet with seniors, remind them of caution on the road, to always look around before we enter the street said Carolina Saskatchewan from the Municipal Police Department in Czechs.

– We also provide reflective materials to light our seniors a bit, but of course, we remind you that this reflective clothing is only an addition, our caution is the most important, an officer added while moving on the way.

Residents of the city were positive about the action. Many of them admitted that thanks to reflections, it feels safer on the road.

The campaign to prevent road accidents in Homemade

In the context of the increase of the road traffic on the modernized county road, the Homemade City Hall initiates a road traffic accident prevention campaign where the citizens of the commune can become victims of pedestrians, cyclists or wagons. The campaign aims at informing the population about the observance of the daytime traffic rules, especially during the night, supported by specialists from the Belgium police station, but also the purchase and distribution of reflective tapes for each of the family.

“It is a project that we have initiated, and it is not a great financial effort to buy about 600 newsletters so that each family has a reflective vest received from the city hall. The goal is to prepare somehow the population for another traffic flow as the county roadworks are completed. If until now the county road stops at Solidus, now will be the connection to Modish, Second, Titrate, and everyone is convinced that it will be much larger traffic and the good road will circulate at speed, especially at night.

The elderly were accustomed to go from one house to another, to go where there was a death to watch, to the church, were accustomed to traveling along the road, not all the time the sidewalks are preferred by the elderly and we have no very well-built infrastructure, and then we thought we had to organize citizens’ meetings with the police, to remind the elderly people in particular of how to travel and not to forget to put back a reflective vest .

At the mayoral level, we want to do our best to prevent unwanted events, to have no one on our conscience. We have not yet begun to distribute the vests next week to warm up the weather, to make some more meetings. I looked for the price, about 5-6 thousand lei would be the value of the vestments for all the families in the commune, we will take them personally. It really does not cost much and it was also a way for a store to get them and they buy them, but what’s certain is certain. With regard to the children, we will see that there are also elastic vests, flexible measures of any size and we will see exactly what we have, “said Simian Avant-garde, mayor of Homemade commune.

Also, at the end of the year, money was received from the government, and it was decided, together with Horsehide’s councilors, to improve the quality of public lighting on the county road, in each village, to be led bulbs on each pillar so far, for lack of money, it was only the second pillar lightened. Now on the main street, each pillar along the county road will have reflective materials for better visibility.

The important element for the safety of children

There are currently more than 180 adult school helpers and an additional 170 student guides in Landsteiner Ronstadt. “This is a top quota, and we are thus Bavaria with at the top,” said Winfred Gehrig, who works as a traffic educator of the Loadstar police at the schools and is also responsible for the finances of the local traffic. In this capacity, he also moderated the annual Schulweghelfertreffen Schwarzenegger the savings bank.

The focus of the meeting was on the honor of longtime helpers by Starlets mayor Paul K ruck and the chairman of the traffic guard Richard Holman. The longest service has Chancellor Koshers from Rubinstein. Despite being proud of her 77-year-old age, the senior citizen has been on the state road to Schweitzer at 7.30 am for fifteen years, to guide elementary school students safely across the street. For this, she was awarded, among other things, the thank-you certificate of the Bavarian Prime Minister.

Susanne Gan, Claudia Lang, Giselle Steroid, and Karin Schopenhauer – all from Simmental – as well as Ramona Muller from Seinfeld,  do ten years of service as school helpers. Five years are Verna Becker, Doris Rosenberg and Martina Lath from Rubinstein. In Simmental, Grid Schrieffer, Lunchtime Muller, Melanie Kuhn, Benjamin Navarro, and Simone Navarro perform their duties, Claudia Meitnerium in Jarlsberg and Nadia Avon Lengthen in Lengthen.

A large group of volunteers with five years of service is available in Seinfeld: Christian Koppel, Sebastian and Christa Schrieffer, Maria Enrich, Gertrude Kronecker, Erika Arnold, Erika Samoset, Erich Gillespie, Karenina Rises and Ja sim Overmanning. On the way to school in Gruelling stand Marion Dereference, Desire Stockhausen and Ganja Michel, in Cochabamba it is Andrea Brenner.

Mayor K ruck called the Cheerfulness an important building block for the safety of our children. At a time when family and society were changing rapidly and children needed help from outside on their way to school, it was a stroke of luck that there were people who voluntarily got up early in the wind and weather and provided security. “We are all grateful that there are such good spirits as you,” he praised.

Police Chief Thomas Mirach was happy about a “top school year” in which there was not a single school accident in the area of his police inspection. This was certainly also a merit of the Cheerfulness and the active Schoolchildren.

Police Chief Gehrig also addressed minor problems in front of the school helpers. These should also pay attention to bright reflective clothing, especially in the dark season – both in themselves, but they should also target specific children who are not adequately equipped.

Reflective tapes or reflective materials must be provided on the reflective clothing to ensure safety.

In case of major difficulties with unintentional motorists, it is important to pass along the license plate and a description of the driver to the police. Furthermore, the official also gave tips for the correct positioning of the helpers on the roadside and asked the attendees to actively recruit other helpers themselves. This usually works better if they are addressed directly.

Before the cozy get-together, there was a cheery-contemplative traffic education film from the early 20th century. The strip “The cyclists are to blame for everything”, showed that not much has changed here in the last 100 years.

They protect them from robots

The Amazon Internet Reseller has developed new reflective vests for its warehouse staff. He wants to avoid the injuries that have arisen from contact with the robot droids. Those in the warehouse collect the goods and store the pallets in vacancies. The news came from The Independent and The Week.

The so-called Robotic Tech Vest (Robotic Tech Vest) was specially designed to make workers more visible to an “army of robotic assistants” reminiscent of automatic vacuum cleaners. The vest is equipped with reflective tapes. Their number is around hundreds of thousands worldwide in all Amazon warehouses.

Vests have built-in sensors that send them to robots when they are in their immediate vicinity. Amazon introduces this measure after 24 workers from the warehouse in New Jersey have been hospitalized in December last year. One of the robots passed an aerosol can in their vicinity to repel the bears. The can was torn apart and the substance dispersed into the air.

“The safety of our employees is always our top priority and the investigation of the incident is already underway,” the company said in a statement. The problem lies in the fact that even if robots operate in places where they store goods on shelves, they still have access to the employees who carry out checks. New vests should, therefore, avoid contact with the robot so that the worker can safely carry out maintenance.

A deadly traffic accident in Mals

In Mals on Saturday at 4:00 clock in the morning a tragischer traffic accident occurred.

According to initial information, a man was hit by a car and was fatally injured. There is no reflective tape on his body.

In action were the ambulance of the White Cross, the emergency counseling, the fire department, and the Carabinieri, but all efforts were in vain. The victim died at the accident site.

The 26-year-old Stefan Heinisch from Matsch was on foot on the main road from Mals in the direction of Burgeis when he was hit by the car at the turnoff to Planeil from the car. A second pedestrian, who was said to have been there, remained unhurt.

The driver of the car immediately raised the alarm and called the emergency services.

After the fatal accident in Mals, the chairman of the Association South Tyrol’s local police, Christian Carli, recommends pedestrians to wear light-colored clothing or even a reflective safety vest with reflective fabric when traveling at night. For motorists recognize passersby on foot at night only with difficulty.

For cyclists, safety vests outside of villages have even been mandatory for six years.

Motorists, on the other hand, are advised to take their foot off the accelerator pedal at night within localities. Some would tend to travel too fast because there is often little traffic at night.

Variable weather conditions

Variable weather with snow or rain does not make it easier to drive, especially in the morning and evening, when the temperature fluctuates around zero.

Sudden snowfall, a slippery surface or lack of driving skills in such conditions cause that many road accidents happen. Unfortunately, we do not have any influence on atmospheric conditions, but by observing traffic rules, driving techniques, responsible behavior, as well as proper equipment of our vehicle, we can increase our safety.

With the change of weather, the roads are more and more dangerous

Weather change is the time when the probability of road events increases several times. Deteriorating road conditions: the occurrence of fog, rainfall or snow, slippery surface and low temperature, significantly extend the braking distance, which with high traffic on our roads adversely affects the safety of road users.

Reason first and foremost

Remember that falling snow or snow with rain and frosts make the road slippery. Drivers have to take into account that they will not be able to stop the vehicle immediately. The braking time of the car then increases significantly and it is not difficult to collide or offset. Each of us is a participant in the road traffic, only our roles change sometimes. It does not matter, however, whether we are traveling by car, by bike or walking, then remember that we are responsible for the safety of ourselves and other road users. Unfortunately, we do not have any influence on atmospheric conditions, but by observing traffic rules, driving techniques, responsible behavior, as well as proper equipment of our vehicle, we can increase our safety. Let’s adjust the speed to the conditions on the road. Unfortunately, not everyone remembers that when the temperature is on the small plus or drops below zero, and on the road there is snow or rain or drizzle, the conditions on the road are extremely treacherous and you should drive slower, more cautiously and more wisely.

Let’s take care of our vehicles

The better we take care of our vehicle before departure, the more our safety and other road users will improve. The driver should have an adequate field of view. Snow removal, cleaned of ice and other dirt must be windows and mirrors. Also, external lighting and registration plates may be dirty and covered with snow. Also, the snow lying on the roof of the car or the cover of the engine compartment poses a real threat to us and other drivers because it can slip on the windshield during braking or fall on the other car behind us.

Necessary change of winter tires – it will certainly affect our road safety. As the last days’ show, the first snowfalls have already appeared in our region and in many cases, winter tires seem to be an absolute necessity.

Remember about reflective materials

A special appeal is also directed at pedestrians. Even if you are in front of a pedestrian crossing, make sure that the driver can slow down. Of course, the pedestrian takes precedence over the passage, but here the principle of limited trust is applicable.

Let us remind you that during the autumn and winter weather we are less visible. Pedestrians and cyclists should remember about their safety and take care to be visible. Road conditions suggest common, absolute use of reflective tapes not only outside built-up areas and regardless of age.

Every reflective element, regardless of whether it is a reflective vest, key ring or headband, will make it easier to see the oncoming driver when moving on the road.

The driver remembers:

  • Thoroughly clean the vehicle from the snow before you leave the road – the snow should be removed not only from the windows but also from the roof, bonnet and from the headlights and rear lights,
  • Make sure that the windows are not fogged up and the visibility from inside the vehicle is not impeded,
  • Plan your trip – in case of bad weather conditions, leave 10 minutes earlier. In the event of a possible disruption in traffic, this creates unnecessary stress and, as a consequence, may lead to aggression,
  • Remember that in the event of any precipitation, speed should be reduced,
  • At low temperatures, the road surface freezes. Avoid sudden maneuvers and sharp braking.
  • Pay special attention to pedestrians who are less visible during this period
