The hunters were already out, but they immediately canceled the hunt – says Jake Koss, one of the organizers of the action. – Regulations do not allow shooting less than 500 meters from the “public meeting place”.

– Their faces are gone. They tried to convince us that we had to leave the forest; they even called the police – added Natalia, who also walked with the hunter. – They were not right. The policemen only made us out and let us stay in the forest, to the great disappointment of the hunters.

 

Animal protectors ensure that they are not afraid of walks in the forest when hunters are getting ready. They say they always have high visibility vests with them and keep the hunters informed of their presence even before the hunt begins.

 

Hunts are also cautious. Only once did Jack happen to have someone threatening to scratch his car. It is usually calm, though without a chance for dialogue.

Jacket Kudzu has already taken part in similar walks in the Forest. He locked with other hunting activists during the rut, which is the period of mating deer. They arrived a day earlier to the village, near the hunting grounds. They were doing a reconnaissance to locate the most important pulpits in the area and to map them. The next day they stood still before sunrise to wait under the pulpits before the hunters arrived. They were nice and cultured. After a few years the hunters just stopped coming to the ranch.

The police in safety vest recruit new recruits

The new police dogs are already well used to their new job. Indeed, when their human colleagues go into a trade, the doggies have to wait wisely at the entrance that one returns to look for them … and it works!

 

Quileute’s dogs wear reflective vest has nothing more to fear from wandering thanks to these wonderful policemen! An absolutely formidable initiative is that could give ideas to other police stations hopefully.

Warning vests for private vehicles

In Germany the warning reflective vest is not mandatory equipment for private vehicles. However, the TÜV always recommends wearing this protective clothing in case of breakdown – not just in the dark season. The reflective material is seen from a distance of 150 meters. People without a warning vest are only recognized by drivers when they are only 80 meters away.

 

To ensure that the vest is quickly accessible in an emergency, it should be stored in the interior, preferably in the glove compartment, under the seat or in the side pockets. When the safety vests are open in the interior, they can age faster due to the sun’s rays. The luggage compartment is less suitable for accommodating the vest. On the one hand you have to run around without protection around the car to get to the vest, on the other hand it could be hidden there by luggage.

 

Approved in Germany are vests in red, orange and yellow, which comply with the norm 71 DIN EN. For children, there are also other colors with the marking DIN EN 1150. The reflective waistcoats are available from approx. Not only two Euros for example at the ADAC, but also at many petrol stations or in accessories workshops.
