Safety vests for cycling training

The road safety advisors of the county police authority Unna carry out the cycle driving education with all fourth classes of the elementary schools in the circle Unna. The correct use of the bicycle is trained with the children first in the schoolyard and later also in the public traffic area. At the end of the cycling training is the bike test, after the existence of the coveted bicycle license is handed out.

Matthias, the traffic safety adviser of the police, and the elementary school children in Werner today had every reason to shine: punctually to the test-drive for the bicycle-driving license Dirk. In addition, his team from the driving school handed over 40 light vests, which from now on at the primary schools in Werner be used. The reflective vests increase the visibility of the kids, thus contributing significantly to the safety of little cyclists on our roads, especially in the darker season.

Children received reflective walking hoses

Children from the kindergartens and nurseries from Piła received an extremely valuable gift. It is about walking hoses made by reflective material, thanks to which they will be better visible on the roads.

The hoses are made of a waterproof fabric, filled with light foam. There are fixed handles on the hoses to help children settle in pairs. The snake helps to maintain safety and discipline during walks with a group of children. It can also be used for movement games, exercising balance. Its great asset is also the reflective products, thanks to which the walking group of children is perfectly visible, especially in the autumn and winter – said Bennie, WORD director, while handing gifts to kindergartners.

Then the children from Kindergarten No. 13 practically tried and demonstrated the received gift by walking around the town with traffic located in the Center. Piła’s President Piotr Głowski attended the meeting organized at the headquarters of WORD at Lotnicza, representatives of the kindergartens and nursery, who received presents. Hoses have been purchased from funds intended to improve road safety.

City police officers teach children prevention and security

Crime Prevention, Traffic Education, and Safety are introducing the work of the City Police, its police officers and crime prevention assistants. This and much more was the content of a series of lectures that the Municipal Police in reflective vest organized for the pupils of the second to fifth grades at the Elementary School. Discussions with school pupils and students have proven to be an effective form of prevention for several years.

The lectures were divided into three sections. In the first one, the children were introduced to a crime prevention assistant who explained what the assistant’s work is. Another area covered the work of the police officers and the explanation of their work, when children could see and “hitch” the equipment of the city police. The most interesting ones were, of course, handcuffs, a radio, or batons. In the last round, the children responded to basic questions about traffic education and road safety. For the right answers, they received small gifts as a reward.

Each of the 300 children covered by the lecture got a reflective hand strap or a briefcase with the City of Program logo to increase the safety of people on the road. These reflective accessories are mandatory after the amendment to the Road Traffic Act from February 2016: a pedestrian if it moves outside the village under reduced visibility on the side or edge of the road in a place not illuminated by public lighting must be clearly visible.

The technical vehicle verification could be required in Chile

Oscar, director of Road Safety, indicated that in a police control of the neighboring country, they will be able to request the VTV ticket. It will also be necessary to bring the “pushchair” for minors and the reflective vest.

The director of Road Safety, Oscar, recommended to Mendoza to travel to the trans-Andean country to carry out the vehicular technical verification because in case of passing through a police control, it could be requested by Carabineros.

“The subject of VTV is stipulated in the Chilean Traffic Law and can be requested by Carabineros. This does not imply that they ask for it at customs, but it can be requested, “Declared Homolog. He also recalled that “it is mandatory to take the child protective chair” and “the reflective safety vest“. The fine, for not having the approval certificate, stipulated by the Chilean government, “is around 1300 Argentine pesos.”

“In Mendoza, the cost of verification is 500 pesos up” is depending on the vehicle in question. The director of Road Safety said that “there are five checkpoints, four in the Greater Mendoza and one in San Rafael” and took the opportunity to remember that “in the course of 2018, the VTV will begin to apply in our province.”

Regarding the vehicle controls that will be during the holidays, he commented that “both Christmas and New Year, there will be 25 operations, with 8 dynamic positions that will vary depending on the vehicle situation.” Finally, Oscar referred to the numbers of victims that occurred throughout 2017. “This year there were 189 deaths in traffic accidents, high numbers compared to 135 last year. Anyway there were two major tragedies that trigger the statistics.”

Considerations for traveling by car in these vacations

Road safety capsule: If you are going on vacation in your car in the next vacation period, consider the following:

Safe driving yes, it seems the most obvious, but it is the first thing that fails. The most important thing is to respect the maximum speeds. Do not use the cell phone while driving under any circumstances, as it distracts us from our position as a pilot, leaving everything ready for an accident to occur. Low lights on and all occupants always with seat belts and boys and girls behind with the corresponding fasteners.

Another important factor is the lights. Cleaning any type of dirt will substantially improve the lighting capacity of our vehicle. On the other hand, we must review the distribution bands – attention to the squeaks, if so we must change them – hoses and air conditioning. Tires it is necessary to look in detail if the drawing is well marked. Smooth tires are very dangerous. Check that the pressure is adequate and before going out it is ideal to make an adjustment of alignment and balance. The safety vest is necessary for the car, because the reflective tape for clothing can enhance the visibility.

Fluids there are an indispensable quartet: the engine oil level, the antifreeze level, the brake fluid, and the water for the windshield wipers. Always with the engine cold and stopped, the first fluid is controlled with the rod for that purpose, removing it and checking the marks between minimum and maximum. If necessary, make the corresponding oil / filter change. The antifreeze must be at your level to avoid irreparable heating. When checking the brake fluid, do not forget the brake pads either, since if they are not in good condition they are responsible for the liquid coming down. After filling the windshield water tank, make sure that the feathers are in good condition and show no signs of being parched.

Final check When you have already set all the above, do not forget to check if you have the spare tire in good condition, a reflective vest, tool and extinguisher in good condition. A first aid kit can save you, and finally you have to check that you have all the necessary and current documentation. Secure the luggage. It is important not to carry loose things in the passenger compartment (inside the vehicle). It is true that many times, you need to bring several, but you have to consider your safety and that of your family.

Why pedestrians are in danger when changing to wintertime

Every year, changing to wintertime causes a peak in road accident. Pedestrians and cyclists are the most concerned about the road safety.

The transition to wintertime does not only have the effect of saving energy. Indeed, each year this translates into an increase in road accidents, especially for pedestrians. Road Safety reports an increase of 5.9% between November and October, for this category alone between 2012 and 2016. Pedestrian mortality is 43% of the annual total between October and January, over these years.

These accidents are explained by a nightfall that occurs earlier, and starts during peak hours. During the time slot from 17h to 19h, the increase in accidents amounts to 47%! According to the National Observatory of Road Safety, this surplus of accidents is “a consequence of reduced lighting time, pedestrians without reflective vest are hardly perceived by other users, while they feel to be seen.

The risk also applies to other so-called vulnerable users, such as cyclists. For this last category is added another factor, that of reflectors and lights not necessarily in good working order, after journeys in broad daylight where they proved useless.

In addition to checking the equipment, the Road Safety advises to wear clear clothing, or even with reflective strips. This led some thirty prefectures, and representatives of the association of insurers Area to distribute free 60,000 kits of visibility, including a yellow reflective vest, a matching backpack and a reflective bracelet. An operation called “Well Seen Together” and which is supported by Nelson Montfort.

Wearing reflective vests: zero tolerance in the evening

For the past week, members of the Traffic Enforcement Squad have been conducting a zero-tolerance campaign against motorcyclists who do not wear reflective vests during the evening.

The police use the strong way against motorcyclists who do not wear reflective vests at night. In recent days, elements assigned to the Traffic Branch and the Traffic Enforcement Squad is present at various points of the country after dark. Their duties include “severely sanctioning” motorcyclists for non-wearing reflective vest, driving without lights, or without proper lanterns, or defective.

A senior police officer close to the file explains, “This long-term operation aims to make motorcyclists aware of the importance of wearing reflective vests during the evening. There are many serious accidents involving motorcycles that occur during the night and this is due to the lack of visibility of motorcyclists. The latter often tend not to wear reflective safety vests as required by law.

At the police press cell, Inspector Shiva confirms the implementation of the zero tolerance operation. He states that a list of the areas where the police will be present has already been drawn up. The targeted regions are Port Louis, Cassville, Flick and various northern regions, according to overlap.

“Two-wheelers are reckless and sometimes tend to underestimate the risks when they hit the road. Any collision involving motorcycles can be fatal. The idea behind the repression is to remember that the wearing of the vest is primarily important for the safety of the motorcyclist, “says Barley, author of the Complete Driver’s Guide.

Daniel Raymond, a special advisor on road safety at the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, points out that “repression is the most direct way of tackling the non-wearing of reflective vests by some motorcyclists. Wearing a vest has no social or economic constraint. It is just a question of road safety. Currently, the road looks like a jungle because each user does what he wants. For now, we must use the strong method because we do not have much choice. It will be a long-term plan.”

Will forest animals also wear reflective elements?

When we talk about human rights (see the newly revised foreign policy concept of the government), I have been feeling for a long time that motorists have the rights somewhat more than they have non-motorists, just need to care the road safety.

I will remind you, for example, how long green pedestrians have been lit on the traffic lights and how long they have been in the car, even though they are moving incomparably faster, and it would take less time for them. On the other hand, the tendency to interrupt pedestrian crossings, say, for the good of the infantry, for their greater security. It is only occasionally that someone tells you that those transitions are simply too much and that it disturbs the flow of traffic. Which is wrong, while walking a hundred yards from the aborted crossing is normal and desirable? After all, there is more to “fresh” air.

Perhaps it would be enough to reduce the speed

The latest pedestrian good was approved by the government in the form of one provision of the current amendment to the Road Traffic Act, which is now heading to the Chamber of Deputies. I am imposing on it the obligation to wear reflective elements on the garment (the specific shape of the element is not prescribed) if the visibility is outside the village on a road without pavements. Certainly, those abusive non-automobiles are few and the reflective elements purely technically at least some of their protections are, even though they are not wiped before being swept away.

On the other hand, however, there should be an obligation, even a financial one (however, if buying a reflective tape for a relatively comprehensible amount, if not counting the non-punitive financial penalties in case of disobedience) to someone who is less of a source of danger, who is by far the greater threat. As more logical, it would seem to me, for example, to provide a type of bad visibility that the driver is obliged to reduce the speed of the road on the road outside the village so that any pedestrian conflict can be avoided or at least minimized. Moreover, on the road, not only the pedestrian but also the wildlife can suddenly appear under the described conditions. She is even more likely. Will she be required to wear a reflective tape? By the way, it is not quite a joke, in one of the Nordic countries they say they intend to use a reflective color to refer to wildlife reindeer.

It looks like this as a punishment for a non-motorist for the fact that he even allows himself to move along the road, even for poor visibility. However, the same right to use road communications, unless explicitly forbidden by applicable law, has both a motorist and a pedestrian or cyclist. I emphasize that the right is equal, that the automobile is not bigger, it is not preferred. The right to freely use public roads is perhaps even the oldest.

I have my horses, the duty to clean the pine trees

I am not a lawyer, so I can be mistaken. But I believe that if someone insists that moving along the road, surrounded by material tracts, which is multiplied by the speed of movement, becomes a potentially fatal hazard for unintentional (and armored) road users, it should be primarily he, who should be subject to risk-mitigating obligations to slaughter those unwholesome. Lapidary speaking, somebody gets a common, he does not have the right to expect him to clean his horse lobelia after his walk – no matter how much he can slip even after the horse’s lobelia and make a good charge.

Car on vacation: what do you have to know before you go

If you are one of those who travel on your own holiday, it is your duty to monitor the traffic regulations of the target and transit countries. See the most important rules. Since 1 May, new customs regulations about road safety have started to say that if you rent a car outside the EU with a registration plate there, you can not travel to the EU with this car.

Low Emission Zone in Paris, ecological plaques and a ban on headphones

In Paris, a low-emission zone has been in force since July 1. From Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm, vehicles with a Euro 2 emission class and below may not enter it. You will be charged from € 35 to € 78 for violating the ban. However, fines will not begin to run until September 1. This is also related to the introduction of ecological plaques in July. They have six types and differ in color, with the highest electric cars. Blanquettes, on the other hand, do not have the chance to get cars produced before 1997 and motorcycles before 1999. These vehicles are no longer in Paris’s streets. The obligation to have a plaque on the car is postponed for three months. Starting October, you will pay a fine of € 35 for a breach of duty; from January 2017, it will increase to € 68 (for € 135). It is not yet certain how the foreigners’ cars will be accessed since October.

In France, they have to wear a safety vest and have recently forbidden the use of headphones when driving a vehicle in general (bicycle, motorbike, and car). The prohibition also applies to handsets in the ear.

New rules in Austria

You cannot use the phone from mid-June. The Hands free is only allowed if it is firmly installed in the vehicle, either during production or after a professional fitting with an approved homologation service. Special hands free headphones supplied with your phone are also enabled. Only calls are allowed when waiting, standing in a column or red. You will be fined from € 50 to € 72 for infringement. If you have made a mistake in handling or even caused an accident to handle the mobile, you can “earn” a penalty of up to 2180 Euros.

Motorcycles are also allowed to light even in good visibility (so-called daylight). In the event of visibility deterioration, the dipped beam must be switched on. The new modification also prohibits any handling of the tachometer status of the car. On the contrary, the reflective vest is newly mandatory only for the driver.

Keep the safety equipments for safe

First aid kits are reminiscent of field hospitals, and there are a number of unnecessary things in them, meaning transport and health experts. People often do not know how to use most of the first-aid kit in an accident. In 2018, there is a bigger wave of their expiration, and the police in safety vest will focus on it. Check your date on yours.

It is overly equipped, but things that most people cannot use. Some parts of the equipment are inappropriate or even life threatening. Speech is about the first aid kit. Unlike other countries, every Czech driver has to carry them in the car, and its content is specified in a decree.

“The scope of the first-aid kit equipment reminds me of a small field hospital. These bandages and patches. He would have one universal, a snapper and better gloves that would not break, “said the road expert Roman Road Safety Team, with the fact that there is also a clearly specified length of the scissors:” It is rather important that they are strong enough and that they would manage if necessary, cut the seat belt, “he added.

Health experts also confirm the fact that some things are unnecessary or unusable. For example, there are a number of patches, three-piece scarves or a plastic mask. In addition, a number of dressings with cushioned pads for serious injuries. “This cushion can not be said, this fabric has minimal absorption. As a pad, use the entire bandage if necessary. We take him and put his hand on his gloved grip on his wound. We will attach it by the second bandage, “the Prague rescue practitioner and the First Aid lecturer from Robert Placket said in the Czech Radio, adding that one of the two non-functional bandages would be functional.

It does not work well with a few latex gloves. Nervous drivers rip gloves during a rescue operation, and there is no other pair in the medicine box. “In my opinion, in this case, it would be enough to improve the material from which the gloves are produced,” Buds said. Another option is to buy a backup pair of reflective gloves and add it to your first aid kit.
